About Direct Automotive Inc.

1953:

Peter Feeleus immigrated from Holland to a small farm in St. Eustache, Manitoba with less than $10 in his pocket. Peter came to Canada looking for a better life with more opportunity than he had in Holland. We later found out that when immigrating to North America he had a choice of Manitoba or California, and decided on the always sunny-never cold Manitoba!

 


 

1970:

Peter and his Brother Leo purchased Direct Auto Parts in St.Francois Xavier, Manitoba. Peter and Leo worked long hours day in and day out to build Direct Auto Parts into “the place to go” for used auto parts in Manitoba.  Peter and Leo each had son’s who were both named Leo and are 10 years apart in age that both ended up working in the business when they were old enough to do so.

 


 

1992:

Peter, Leo and their sons purchased a parts store and service garage located at 673 Wall St in Winnipeg. Eventually Peter and Leo decided to retire and sold their shares to their sons Leo and Leo. Because there were too many Leo’s in one workplace, Peter’s son Leo was quickly dubbed JR as he was the younger of the two cousins.

 


 

2004:

Leo and JR decided to expand further and purchase an Engine and Transmission rebuilding facility located on Ferry Road in Winnipeg.  After many years of growth and expansion, Leo and JR decided to create two distinct companies so that each would have its own identity and service offering.

 


 

2013:

The service facility and parts store on Wall Street was re-branded to Direct Automotive Inc and continues to be a successful family run business.

I’ve been buying parts from these guys for the past 10 years. When comparing to other suppliers in the city I have found Direct Auto to be significantly more affordable for the same quality parts. Even when shopping online for parts I have found Direct to be very comparable. When I’ve had to get them to bring parts in from the warehouse they are able to get them in under 1 hour. Very knowledgeable staff as well. Highly recommend. ??

Amazing service! I had to order in a taillight assembly and they were able to get it in the next morning. Will be going back here for all my parts from now on.

I’m very impressed with this shop. Taking my car in for service anywhere has always been my worst nightmare but Eric was friendly and honest; pricing was reasonable too! Will definitely return.

Had to completely randomly drop in because my tire was about to fall off and they squeezed me in right away. Good service! I had no prior experience with them before, but would consider for the future.

I’m so sorry to say this. I’ve been dealing here for parts and service for 20 years. Now I’m turned off this place. I brought my van in. Showed the service writer what it was doing. He right away said. Starter relay or solinoid. Said it would be fixed in the morning. I show up and there changing the terminal ends on the battery cable. Then they charged me $350 for that. 2 hours of service. That’s right. They changed the batter ends and it took 2 hours. Why not change the whole cable. It would of been 15 minutes and $200 cheaper. I left and the first time I turned off my van. It wouldn’t start. Same problem as to why it went in. Now I was left stranded in front of my customers house. Changed the starter and it’s working fine. I’ll post a picture of the receipt later. In response to the owners reply. Your service writer said it looked like a relay or sylinoid. There was nothing wrong with the battery terminals, it was all the starter and relay. When I took it to another garage. They said the same thing. They changed the starter and my van is running fine. $250 for the starter and $70 to change it. Why would I bring it back after being charged $430 in total. Not to mention. You charged me $65 to reset my codes on the truck and as soon as I started it. All my code lites turned on. You say you test drive it ? I don’t think so. You did not test drive the van. I was there. You parked it out front and I got in. Sorry. I was happy with you guys for 20 years. This really kicked me in the butt…
