Diamond in the Rough - Wedding & Events Venue - Range Rd 44

My fiancé and I booked with them earlier this year and they’ve been incredibly helpful by answering all our questions regarding the venue. The Log house is one of a kind and the property is beautiful. We can’t wait to get married here!!

My fiancé and I booked with Diamond in the Rough in May 2020 for our wedding in July 2021, making sure that we left plenty of time to take into account any potential impacts COVID may have on the venue or our vendors. The ease of planning with the owners was a big contributor to our decision to choose this venue. As our planning progressed we made the tough decision that Diamond in the Rough would not be the right venue for us. We reached out to the owners in December to let them know we would be cancelling our booking and releasing our date with >6months notice. The owners had previously discussed with us, and it is posted on their website, that our $1,000 deposit would be transferable to another couple if someone else took our date. If no one ended up taking the date we would loose the deposit, which is fair. In December when we reached out to let them know that we would not be using the venue they indicated they would "sell the date on our behalf" as we had previously discussed. That brings us to this week where I reached out to see how things were going and if the date had been sold. To our surprise they indicated that the date had been sold, but we had not been notified... I then asked to have our deposit returned as the date has been transferred to another couple. The venue refused to return our deposit, coming up with a plethora of different excuses, many contradicting, and failing to answer many of our questions for why they are justified in keeping our deposit. Now the venue has rebooked the date, presumably charged the new couple a deposit and kept ours as well even though their website states that a deposit is transferable to another couple. What really upsets me is that if we didn't reach out there was no initiative taken by the venue to notify us that the date had been sold or any effort to uphold their own policies when transferring a deposit when the date is successfully rebooked.

Attended a wedding here and it was lovely. The grounds are beautiful with lots of tree cover and a pond for the ceremony. Lots of well lit outdoor space.

Beautiful setting . Camping available. Use of the main log house.the barn for the venue very well done kitchen bathrooms a bar over hang around most of it . Your just gona be limited to how many guests not sure what they advertise but a 100 or so would be getting pretty full .. a perfect place for weddings

We got married here over the September long weekend and I can't say enough of how beautiful and perfect this place is. The property is stunning and beautiful on it's own, requiring minimal decoration as it's just naturally beautiful. The owners are extremely responsive and flexible to help you get the exact day you want. The log cabin is a marvel to stay in so I highly recommend doing that. It was so wonderful to be able to stay on the property, as well as the option to have friends and family camp on property too - it just made everything better having everyone so close and having fun. Everyone that came to the wedding complimented how stunning it was and was so impressed with the place. Go check it out, it's worth it and so close to Calgary or Red Deer that it's easy to find vendors. There's also lots available more locally from nearby towns of Sundre and Olds. We were so happy with our wedding here and I honestly have no regrets about choosing this venue. Thanks Bev and team!

My husband and I got married at Diamond in the Rough in September 2020. The Diamond and the Rough team did an amazing job working with us and coordinating the day of events to make our wedding absolutely perfect. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for stunning venue tucked away in the beauty of central Alberta supported by the amazing staff to make all your wedding dreams come true.

We got married here in August of 2021. We rode the COVID rollercoaster and the Jans family at Diamond in the Rough made the ride a lot less stressful. Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about this venue and the family that owns it. They were professional, approachable and always willing to help however they could. They always responded to my emails in a timely manner. I can honestly say our wedding would not have been the same if we would have had it somewhere else. We cannot recommend DITR enough for future brides!!
