Deer Creek Banquet Facility

The banquet was great for our new years gala. I enjoyed the decor of the hall, the live band and the open bar. The food was amazing as well, one thing they could of done better was monitoring the appetizer table. The hot appetizers ran out quick so by the time the line died down and we got there, there was no apps left. They could of done a better job replacing them because everyone around me wanted some and were bummed out that they paid for them but never got any. Also the main course was way too small, you could finish the steak in 3-4 bites so that was a little dissappointing. In addition, the staff was clearly not having a good night and it was obvious they were understaffed. Not the staff's problem but more something that Deer Creek management should correct for the next big venue. Our server was great to us though when we mentioned we had an allergy and she gave us a substitute. Overall great night, just a few things I'd change for the next big venue they host there.

Deer Creek has been host to my company's Holiday Party for the past several years. The venue is gorgeous, spacious and well maintained. The service staff are friendly and attentive. Every time they cater, the meal is outstanding. The washrooms are always clean and fresh. I live going here for functions. I hope my company continues to have their events here.

The hall where the ceremony was held had huge windows and was open and bright. The cocktail area was spacious and cozy with couches and plenty of standing room. The Terrace that it led onto had a beautiful view of the golf course and not too much foot or car traffic so it wasn't noisy or interrupted. The washrooms were spacious and clean with plenty of stalls and sinks. The servers were friendly and fun! The bartenders were dancing and making jokes. Great bar selection and the dance floor was big enough to fit everyone on it! Beautiful venue, I would definitely recommend it having been a guest there!

Great staff very clean easy to find great service

I attended a dinner party at Deer Creek Golf Club first i wanna say the food was amazing 3 course meal salad,chicken,beef and desert it was delicious. Good prices at the bar it's reasonable for drinks expected at a dinner party venue and well known Golf Club. Respectful staff both bar and servers in dining area. When you get to dining area they make sure you have everything wine,water and bread rolls and butter before dinner. Very clean environment and we'll respectful staff. I highly recommend Deer Creek Golf Club if you would like to have an event.

We attended a wedding reception at this facility on May 22. The venue is very nice and well appointed. The service, however, was not that good. It was a sit down dinner and the servers were taking very long between the courses. The servings were also very small. I have to this place for a Probus Christmas luncheon in 2019 and even then the service was very slow.

Beautifully renovated facility. The golf courses here are incredibly well maintained and aren’t overly crowded. Restaurant, washrooms and banquet halls are all top notch! Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating as well!

Deer Creek Golf & Banquet is a great facility! I've played golf here since they first opened many years ago. I've also attended events here in their banquet facilities and everything was good - food, staff, service, and venue! Change, however, is inevitable, sometimes unavoidable, not always welcome, and not always better. I recently attended a wedding reception here (September, 2021) and it was not a good experience, mainly due to the food, staff, and the level of service they provided. I was the first to arrive at Deer Creek, coming here straight from the church. A couple of people arrived shortly after, coincidentally also at my table. It was almost thirty minutes before the rest of the guests started arriving. Strangely, shortly after my arrival, the serving staff started putting platters of hot appetizers on each table. There were Beef Sliders, Chicken and Waffles, and Crab Cakes. They looked good but besides us three early arrivals, there was nobody around to eat them so, of course, they got cold. There were also a couple of pesky flies around them. In my experience, this could have been handled a lot better! Rather than an oversized platter of apps on each table, they could have made individual plates with one of each appetizer. This eliminates any cross contamination from people reaching into the platter, especially during these COVID times. They should have waited for most of the guests to arrive and be seated before serving this. We weren't allowed to remove our masks unless seated at our table so this would make sense. Cold appetizers (that were supposed to be hot) are not appealing and a lot of it went uneaten. Perhaps cold apps might have been a better choice (crab salad on endive, finger sandwiches with cold cuts, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, veggie sticks, etc.). Soup was our first course for dinner. I'm unsure what it was but it was very bland and had everybody at my table reaching for the salt and pepper. It was served barely warm. For our main course, we had preselected our meal. I chose Chicken Supreme with Beef Tenderloin and others chose Salmon. My chicken and beef were both overcooked, a bit dry, and not as tender as I had expected. Friends at other tables commented that their beef was undercooked. Most of the salmon at my table was uneaten. Dessert might have been my favourite course - a chocolate brownie with raspberry(?) and chocolate dressing. Some found it dense but it was okay. There was a late night Poutine station, with fries, gravy, bacon, cheese curds, and green onions. This might have been the best food of the evening because it was served hot! Staff, however, were warning people to go easy because there was no more coming. There was more than enough staff for the evening but it was obvious that some of them were inexperienced, typical for this time of the year. A couple of the senior staff, however, were setting poor examples for the younger staff. They were blunt and rude towards guests throughout the evening. There's a lot more that I could write, unfortunately nothing good. I just hope the bride and groom enjoyed their special day!
