★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located within Edmonton's River Valley park system, Dawson Park is uniquely situated adjacent to the Riverdale community and Riverside Golf course. It's home to the Edmonton Dragon Boat racing club and many public and military sponsored events. The new docks for boat launches open in the summer of 2019.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Parking here gives you a good spot for a loop walk entailing both sides of the river.
Start by walking to the Capilano bridge on the South side of the river and over the bridge and back on the north side of the river. This loop is around 7.5 kms. Not a very hard walk; I highly recommend this walk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great off leash area. Many options for trails including the main paved trail which is great for turning of the seasons times to avoid mud! Kinda dumb how the off leash area begins about 50+ meters from the parking lot. Watch for bylaw officers between the parking lot and where the off leash area begins!
Quite a few coyotes around this park, FYI. Seen them and heard them many times, never had an issue with them, and I have a small dog.

Left our vehicle here for a few hours as we walked to Capilano Bridge.
We did notice a city of Edmonton truck driving around so we weren’t to concerned with theft or vandalism.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Public parking lot that is easily accessible. It’s clean. The only thing is there is probably not enough parking spaces. It’s always busy during the summer months.
