COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

D’Arcy Bain Physiotherapy is proud to support several community groups. We are a small health care business but believe in giving back to the communities in which we work and live. We also believe in giving back to our profession; in particular, several specific gifts have been given to support the University Of Manitoba School Of Physiotherapy.

Most gifts are given to support our staff’s teams or special social events. To date, we are asked for donations at least 2-3 times per week and we regret that we cannot support every request.

We support the following:

• $20,000.00 School of Physiotherapy Building and Endowment Fund.
• 
$500.00/yr John Potter High School Football Scholarship since 1986.
• $500.00/yr Fred Stevenson High School Hockey Scholarship since 1999.
• $300.00/yr Physio Fit Run

Our staff and therapists have donated their time and skill to the yearly Physio Fit Run, Manitoba Marathon, Boeing Track Meet and Provincial Cheerleading Competition.

Many sporting events are covered by our staff, at the high school, provincial, national, and international levels. There is no fee for this coverage and staff often take holiday time to help with the medical / sports physiotherapy support of events.

Beyond our staff volunteering their time for amateur sport, our therapists also hold positions on the professional licensing board (College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba), or community committees. Our staff and therapists are involved with the community coaching, community club executive, community health advisor and team/club executive.

D’Arcy Bain Physiotherapy is proud of the support and time that our staff volunteers with the community and happy to be able to support their charitable efforts as well as offer our own to the community as well.
