Creeks Edge Quarter Horses - Rocky Mountain House

Ashley grew up in the interior of B.C. and spent many years competing in horse shows, as well as 4H and gymkhana.  She spent 10 years in 4H and won many awards.  She spent time assisting with riding lesson programs, and working alongside coaches and trainers, as well as attending a variety of clinics, and spending many hours in the mountains with her horses and focusing on training her own colts.  After being awarded the Animal Science Scholarship from her high school's Agricultural Science Program, she took a few years off to work in the horse industry before attending college.  During these years, she began as a stable hand at race tracks, and later she was a licensed groom on the race track at the Calgary Stampede track; working both with the Thoroughbred and Standardbred horses.  She worked in tack shops, learning much about saddle making and proper saddle fitting, bits, etc, and went on to work at some large boarding and breeding stables in both B.C. and Alberta.  There she helped manage the large client bases, as well as learn the ins and outs of the businesses and caring for the variety of horses within them and their specific needs.  After several years, she went back to school, obtained her Business Management Diploma, and became the Administrative Assistant for the Kamloops Exhibition Association, going on to later become their Facility Manager, working directly under their Board of Directors. After having her first child, Shelby, Ashley took some time off to focus on her daughter, and later her son, Rhett, and is now working managing the farm, both on the breeding and boarding ends.  She spends her time teaching the children to ride and Shelby is now competing in both shows and gymkhana, and has plans on moving on to reining, while Rhett is enjoying growing and learning with his miniature horse.  Ashley is looking forward to once again competing with her horses, with hopes of both Reining and showing AQHA, and plans to further her education in the Equine Industry in the near future, having recently received both her Level I and II Stable Management Certificates.
