β β β β β Sylvia Chan led my grade 9 students through a very successful one day, oil portraiture, Alla Prima workshop. The students loved the experience and gained valuable technical skill in portrait painting. Some of the skills acquired were: preparing a canvas, developing a colour pallet, developing a composition and numerous painting techniques using various brush types. Sylvia begin the workshop by providing an amazing one hour portrait demonstration followed by one-on-one personalized instruction for each student. The workshop concluded with each student having completed their first Alla Prima oil painting portrait. Iβve uploaded several example of the student's work. These artworks were my studentβs first attempt in creating oil portraiture. These works were painted during the workshop, in approximately three hours. I would highly recommend Ms. Chanβs Alla Prima workshop to anyone interested in learning to paint oil portraiture.

β β β β β I've been a student at Creative Genius Art Academy for around 2 years. Over the course of my learning experience, Sylvia Chan has been an amazing mentor and role model. She has helped me develop my art portfolio to the best of my abilities and has been extremely supportive and helpful. Creative Genius is a wonderful studio that offers kindness and friendliness to all of their students- when you go, you're guaranteed an amazing time!

β β β β β As a co-op student at Creative Genius Academy for the past five months, I have seen the hard work and dedication that the staff put into running this after-school program. Each member of the CGA team has a love for art and hopes to share this passion with young and old minds alike. Classes are structured to fit the needs of individual students, with instructors dedicated to the growth of their students beyond artistic ability.
The communication between all stakeholders at CGA is commendable and creates an inclusive and comforting environment. I believe students can gain the potential to harness their creativity, confidence, and additional transferrable skills, as I have throughout the past five months.

The staff and teachers are amazing role models who want to make a positive impact in the lives of others. Everyone's ideas are welcomed in a safe space where their voices are heard and their artistic abilities are valued. Creative Genius Academy is an outlet, it was a way for me to feel less alone through art :)
