To the people who work at abbotsford prole, you are the greatest case management team I have ever met.You keep me free, alive, safe and on the right path. Public safety is first and foremost the primary goal. You go above and beyond that in a way that sometimes makes me forget that I am a prisoner, you could say I suffer from Stockholm syndrome but sometimes having the fantasy that people care about your wellbeing isn't so bad. I suffer from many different types of mental disorders, every day is a fight for me. Its literally a life or death fight. CSC is not a place that does one's mental health any good. The stuff I've seen and the stories I've been told from first hand accounts, has been life altering and traumatizing. The stuff that (some) correctional officers put prisoners (me) through, and the plain old sop (standard operating procedure) is demoralizing and strip me of what little humanity I had. Please don't get me wrong I put my self there, but I was broken and now I wish broken was all I was, because broken can be fixed, what I am now can never be fixed. That is why I am grateful of the staff that work at this place, even if it is a delusion or fantasy of a false sense of belonging or hints of what I can kind of remember what family once felt like. This keeps me going and keeps me alive. What my future feels like is a dark and heavy, blanketed over or a clouded storm, it scares me and consumes me, but for now my hands go up to the men and women that make up my CMT at abbotsford prole.
