2020 Award Nominations Are Open – Safety Leadership

These Awards recognize companies and organizations which have provided outstanding leadership in developing, implementing and improving industry best practices, which have led to measurable advances in project, company or industry performance. The awards are presented annually at the Best Practices Conference in May to celebrate industry leaders and to provide inspiring role models for COAA Members and the industry at large.

The awards rotate among three themes to provide focus and sufficient time for organizations to make substantive progress from one cycle to the next. Two categories for each award accommodate both large and small organizations.

Other Awards

Don Currie Award of Recognition

Named to honour D.V. (Don) Currie, P. Geol., who served as the third Managing Director of COAA from 1985 to 2000, the COAA presents this award annually to recognize those individuals whose long-standing and dedicated service has contributed to the success of the COAA

AIT Scholarships

COAA created five scholarships presented by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) Scholarships to recognize the excellence of Alberta apprentices in a trade or trainees in designated occupations, and to encourage recipients to complete their apprenticeship or occupational training programs. The COAA scholarships are named after Neil Tidsbury, Jeph Virtue, Brian Bickley, Stephen Revay, and Herb Holmes. For more information on Alberta’s scholarship program, please click here.
