This place is currently ran by an old racist lady. There is no Indigenous program, which really says all you need to know. Unacceptable in 2022

Awful customer service experience from Anisha Sarana. Contact another agency, theres tons of places that will reply on time and actually care. Was getting evicted from my house and in an emergency. I asked to speak to a staff who helped out my friend before, they completely disregarded that. Anisha had a very late and deflective response to my original email, did not address my emergency, or mention she would connect me with the staff I requested. Go somewhere else, there is a lot of options

Recovery is not a new concept to me. It and I have been companions on more than a few occasions. However, my most recent experience with recovery was markedly different because of the support I received from Community Connections Services Society. Instead of facing the impact of necessary medical treatment alone, in a financial and community sense, I was able to ask for help and have my call answered by Jesse and the wider team at Community Connections Services Society. The support that Connections Community Services Society provided me with was extremely impactful in many ways. Two of these ways being financial and and communal. First, their support helped me address necessary dental needs while still maintaining some semblance of financial security; having to pay two and a half thousand instead of three and a half thousand makes a huge difference in the life of a young student. when considering all the financial requirements of life. Second, this financial support brought me a feeling of overall support from a broader community. I was in the midst of a fall and Connections Community Services was there to help catch me. That may be silly to say, but it is true. Having faced what I have, I am built on a foundation of fiery resilience. This resilience keeps me going, but has a byproduct of stubborn independence. This experience with recovery was different because I was supported in new ways and because I was taught when to ask for help and how relieving and empowering it can be to receive it. Connections Community Services Society taught me that I don't need to be resilient against the entire world on my own. In fact they taught me that by asking for help and being vulnerable I can become more resilient in a healthier way. Because of this I will now and forever be thankful to Connections Community Services Society and all the those who choose to work there, helping us all recover and thrive.

I was referred to a worker here while ago. I have a hard time trusting and relating to people as most from care do. My worker here constantly went out of their way to help me, call and check up on me regularly, refer me to their contacts who are very helpful resources in my community I didn’t know existed, improved my life significantly because of the consistency, I never had that from another human being, let alone a social worker. I felt inspired and motivated for the first time in my life, worker is truly one of a kind, related on a deep level, someone I genuinely felt had my back and pushed me to do better things with my life. Answered and returned each and every call and request I made. Now out of nowhere while we have been in contact often, worker say they can’t work with me anymore and I have to work with someone else, no thanks….are you serious? Known each other for almost 2 years, worker said the call not to work with me was from above their head beyond their control. To whoever made that call, huge mistake, that’s how you destroy relationships and trust. You don’t just do a hand off after almost 2 years of working with someone. It took a long time to develop that type of trust. For the first time I felt comfortable enough to share private things I never felt comfortable discussing with anyone else. We grew together. I am very disappointed, heartbroken, feel disrespected and will not trust this place ever again or recommended it to anyone I know from care. Really sketchy move. To those promoting the hand off, these actions are inexcusable, and that worker is irreplaceable, I will be going elsewhere as should everyone else.
