Very nice Synagogue and welcoming people if you speak English, it's sad because it wants to be a welcoming community, but no service in French which is annoying in a French province.

I attended the congregation occasionally for a little over a year. The people are very welcoming and friendly and the Rav is very involved. It is a very open and very generous congregation. Unfortunately, there is nothing in French. I would even say that any attempt to bring even a single intervention in French is frowned upon. The times I intervened in French were very unpleasant for me, and I was discouraged from addressing this point of friction. This is a great pity, because there is little or no French-speaking liberal alternative in the Montreal Jewish community, and the congregation refuses to play this role of alternative. I would feel a little embarrassed to go back there because I feel that this problem is not addressed ...

This is a beautiful synagogue where families sit together. Women are equal and permitted to go up to the Bimah to chant or give a talk. Saturdays after the services there is a kiddush with a nice luncheon followed by singing. The atmosphere is warm and friendly.

The most inclusive and forward-thinking synagogue in town. A good mix of tradition and forward-thinking evolved Judaism. Rabbi Dolin is young and highly trained and provides spiritual guidance to a very diverse enlightened community that welcomes new members with open arms. A good deal of community and life events are coordinated here as well as courses for those seeking to broaden their knowledge. When you join this community you are never alone.
