About Commercial Credit Adjustors Ltd

Have you been contacted by Commercial Credit Adjusters or another collection agency?

If you’ve been notified in writing or by telephone that you owe a creditor on an outstanding account and it has been turned over to Commercial Credit Adjusters or another collection agency, don’t panic. Commercial Credit Adjusters is not in business to make life unbearable for you. Our objective is to collect and recover the money you owe our client.

We understand that there are many reasons people don’t pay their debts including financial setbacks, poor repayment habits, overspending, or sometimes they’re just not happy with a product they bought. Whatever the reason, it’s important to communicate with the collection agency. When they understand the problem, chances are they will work out a reasonable, manageable way for you to repay your debts.

On the other hand, consumers who don’t cooperate with the collection agency may find that court action is being taken against them and the debt is being reported on their credit bureau file.

What should you do?

  • If possible, pay the money you owe. You won’t have to deal with Commercial Credit Adjusters or the collection agency once the account has been cleared.
  • If it’s impossible for you to pay the full amount at once, contact Commercial Credit Adjusters and explain why. Offer some alternative method of repayment, either in a lump-sum or a series of monthly payments. Follow up in writing and, if possible, enclose a good-faith payment.
  • Never send cash. Always make payments in such a way that you have a receipt, either through a cancelled cheque from your own bank or a receipt from the agency.
  • Once the account has been officially turned over to Commercial Credit Adjusters or another agency, you’ll be dealing only with that agency when making arrangements for payment. Don’t contact the original creditor unless there’s an error in the account. This just creates confusion. If there is an error, advise both the creditor and the collection agency.

It is important to remember:

  • Your attitude towards paying the debt has a lot to do with how cooperative the agency will be. For example, when making payments to the agency, be sure not to bounce cheques and miss payments. However, if your financial circumstances change, contact the collection agency and explain your current status and follow up in writing.
  • Debts should not be treated lightly. They can result in court action, which could lead to money being taken from your paycheque (garnishee) or seizure of your assets.

If you feel you’re being treated unfairly by a collector or a collection agency, here’s what you can do:

The first step an individual should take if they feel they are being treated unfairly by a collector is to immediately speak to the collector’s supervisor. Explain the situation to the supervisor by stating you would like to resolve your situation, but you are unable to come to any agreement or solution with the collector assigned to your file. In most circumstances, this action will result in a satisfactory conclusion. If it does not, ask to speak to a manager of the company.

Never called from there office number and continually called in the middle of the night. Never left a message so I thought it was a telemarketer scam. If you have "urgent business" try leaving a message next time.

Calls at 0738h am, I am a nurse who fell on hard times trying to get back on my feet and I don't need 0738h calls when I am trying to sleep after my shifts. You do not value us as people. You just see numbers!

They are harassing me, I already called the companies I have accounts with to check of there is any money owing, and if they are connected to this company, they said they are not, that they are most likely scammers, after 20 + calls, I got fed and spoke to someone asking them to stop the calling as I confirmed already with my companies that they are not connected to them in any way, they said to me "as long as I am in their system they will keep calling me", they keep refusing telling me on behalf of what company they are calling, I'm feel tired and emotional distressed thanks to them.

If someone says "I am handling my Dad's affairs" you'd think you wouldn't respond with "I can't tell you anything, he'll have to call us" Well, if someone is dead, how are they supposed to do that? ? this company seems really intelligent.

I paid the amount owed via Visa. Commercial Credit Adjustors charged my Visa as a cash advance, and then my bank charged me a service charge. I contacted the bank and they reversed the charge after I explained that there was no cash advance. Commercial Credit Adjustors should be ashamed for passing off a full payment as a cash advance. Be truthful, and post it as a payment to CCA. Terrible to treat people like that. Folks, check your bank accounts after making payment to Commercial Credit Adjustors.

Update - After almost 2 months, this company finally supplied the name of the business that I supposedly owed monies to, and I was able to clear this up (my account was sent to collections for another customer's unpaid bill!!!) within 48 hours. If the initial caller had given me this information when I requested it, instead of playing games, none of this would have carried on for so long. I was needlessly AND erroneously harassed for this long, simply due to bad business practices. I will stand behind this rating! This is a totally bogus operation, trying to use non-stop harassment to con consumers into believing in non-existent debts! The first of the dozens of calls I received started off with the scammer at the other end speaking so quickly that I couldn't even make out who she was supposedly representing - the only words that were clear enough to understand were "Accounts Receivable", and collection agencies are NOT the same as an Accounts Receivable department of a legitimate business (which a legitimate collections agency would be expected to know). The woman on the phone did not have (or want) my mailing address - although she claimed that they had already sent me documents! She also would NOT share any information around who I supposedly owed monies to. A complete scam - I invited her to send me any documents she wished (as I am debt free) but asked her to stop calling.....which apparently was taken as an invitation to step up the harassing calls. When I blocked her number, others followed in her tracks. Am looking into legal possibilities to stop this ridiculous bogus activity!
