I've been a combat sport fan my entire life and Steve who's the head coach here, fuelled my passion and gave me a proper direction and proper coaching. Steve is more than just a coach, he's my mentor and most importantly he's a friendly figure. I have been training at Combative Concepts Academy for a while now and the classes are just incredible. Steve always uses his experiences and knowledge to help students understand proper ways to master certain techniques and he is always willing to give his 100% no matter what the experience level of the student is. The best part is that you're not limited to just one type of class. All classes throughout the week are readily available for anyone to participate in and that's what I find that other GTA Martial Art Gyms lack. Every student is given personal and in-depth attention, which is truly rare and helpful especially if you're just starting up. It's definitely worth checking this place out if you want to really improve your self-defence and fighting skills both for competing or just to stay healthy! Classes are spread throughout the week and the location of this gym is pretty convenient to get to.

Very good place to start learning martial arts or combat sports. Steve, the owner and coach is highly knowledgable in a wide range of martial arts and is a very patient and technical teacher who will help you grow in many aspects of your abilities. Have been going here for quite a while now and I definitely recommend this school if you are interested in training in boxing, kickboxing, no gi grappling, and jeet kune do.

Great place to learn the fundamentals & science behind the martial arts, Coach Steve teaches. Great energy & atmosphere, not to mention a wicked work out you get from his exercises. You wont regret it!

Coach Steve is the real deal. He is well qualified to teach any aspect of the fight game. My wife and I take weekly privates with him and in a few months our progress in striking, grappling has surpassed any solo or class based learning I have done on my own. I highly recommend a private with him, it is well worth the money. Gone are days of seeing one coach for boxing, another for BJJ, yet another for muay thai, and finally a wrestling guy all of whom will contradict each other. Steve is able to seamlessly blend all arts and has helped my wife and I (far from professional athletes) become well rounded fighters. Coach Steve never comes in and just 'wings' it. I have thrown him curveballs in my training ("hey lets do some greco clinches and throws today") and he is ready with real drills and practical lesson plans. Steve is a serious professional and anyone training with him is blessed to have such a resource. The school is clean, well equipped, and the classes are not very large with a great atmosphere. Summary Pros Amazing instructor classes are small, lots of personal attention. All in one. Steve teaches everything himself so no contradictions. Beginner and Pro level. Steve is a talented teacher able to tailor to student's needs. Reasonably priced, no ridiculously or predatory contracts. CLEAN FACILITY!!!! Cons No morning classes during the week

The facility is clean, very well-equipped, and comfortable to train in. Steve, the owner and instructor, is very knowledgeable in the martial arts being taught in the gym. He is very easy to communicate with, and tailors the training specifically to the individual's level. Highly recommend this facility!

Steve is a great teacher. Joining the academy is out of my comfort zone but I always feel welcoming and comfortable. All the classes are beginner friendly. The scale of each class is very reasonable so each student has more time one on one with the teacher.

Best place to not only learn martial arts, but even the history as to why certain styles are the way the are now. Steve is very knowledgeable in various different martial arts. His approach and style of teaching is different compared to other gyms I’ve been to. I’ve visited a bunch of gyms to try and test out which would fit me best, one class here and I didn’t even want the week trial, I signed up ASAP. He’s patient and gives everyone the attention needed to improve. For beginner to advance, there’s a lot to learn especially from Steve. I’ve been going 3 times a week and will continue to go.
