Clayton listened, acted in my best interest while executing exactly what I asked for. If you want Compassionate Professionalism and be treated with respect, call Clayton. You will not be disappointed.

Clayton was recommended by another colleague to represent me for my separation 6 years ago. There were a number of issues that occurred which I am still trying to resolve to this day. Firstly; many of the details that he outlined in the separation agreement were not properly explained during the long tedious sessions I was billed for during our time together. Unfortunately the details regarding my children's living arrangements were explained away as inconsequential during our discussions because my ex wife was not working at the time. This proved to be a big mistake. He did not fully explain the financial consequences of the details he provided on my separation agreement and I do not believe that he considered my best interest in the future when drafting up my separation agreement. When I contacted him shortly afterward in an attempt to adjust the agreement because I lost my job he only offered that the next best step was to get an official divorce from my ex wife. He mentioned as well that his fee has increase and I would need to pay a new higher hourly rate if I wanted to continue with him for that. I followed his advice and proceeded with serving the divorce paperwork in the hope that afterward I could seek a change in the amount of child support I was paying in lieu of the fact that I was making 1/2 of the money I was making before the separation occurred. After the divorce paperwork was finalized, he told me that he was not accepting any new clients and he could not help me with my issue. I have since engaged a new lawyer to help see a change in my separation agreement and things are proceeding nicely. I would not recommend him to a friend or family. I would not normally write a disparaging review of anyone but considering the amount of time and effort l have had to put into getting these problems fixed I feel that it is warranted in this case. My view is that he did not look after my best interest and was more concerned with running the clock to bill me extra time. There are many lawyers out there and I'm sure many of them are excellent but I don't feel he is one of them.
