About Circle K

A Presence We’re Proud Of!

Circle K Stores are owned by Alimentation Couche-Tard, the largest convenience store operator in Canada.
We are recognized for our strong food service brands, Simply Great Coffee, and of course our icy cold, flavour abundant Frosters.
Our innovative store design and merchandising is second to none. Plus, we’re committed to providing the kind of comfortable and convenient shopping experience that will keep our customers coming back – whether that’s in-store seating to enjoy a beverage or a meal, or quick service when you’re on the go. We’re here when and where our customers need us.

Circle K, Your Community & You

We believe that people are a critical part of the Circle K brand, so we’ve fostered a culture which educates, inspires and empowers all our people to “Do the right thing” for everyone in the Circle K world. Circle K has a strong focus on training and motivation. That’s one of the reasons why, in the end, we can pride ourselves on providing the best customer experience in the convenience industry. And why we will sustain continued growth and leadership in the marketplace.

History of Circle K Stores

Circle K Stores are owned by Alimentation Couche-Tard, the largest convenience store operator in Canada. Circle K’s success in the convenience retailing industry spans more than 60 years. Back in 1951 when Fred Hervey purchased three Kay’s Food Stores in El Paso, Texas, little did anyone know these stores would serve as the beginning of Circle K, now, a proudly Canadian company.

During the next few decades, Circle K grew its retail network through a series of acquisitions, eventually incorporating into the Circle K brand. By 1975, there were 1,000 Circle K stores across the U.S. In 1979, Circle K entered the international market when the first Circle K stores were established in Japan. The company’s growth continued and, by 1984, sales had reached $1 billion.

A new milestone was attained in 1999 when Alimentation Couche-Tard acquired Mac’s Convenience Stores and became the largest national convenience store network in Canada – a distinction it still proudly holds today. Couche-Tard launched into the US market with the acquisition of Circle K stores in 2003 and has since developed into a global brand represented in over 20 countries.

Circle K has become one of the most widely recognized convenience store brands in the world, known for quality products and great customer service. We’ve come a long way since our humble beginnings, and we’re proud of where we’ve been and where we’re going.

My elderly father went in to redeem two prizes from a contest. He showed them both winning texts, by the time they were done talking to eachother one had already counted down the five minutes. It could no longer be used and they refused to give it to him. Scammers.

Terrible customer service, over priced, they falsely post promotions with spelling errors. The guy at night shift always talks on the phone continuously while customers are in the store, I often see the back in 5 minutes sign is up but see him hiding in the isles talking on the phone, most of there items like candy cones are over a dollar more expensive than every store in town, they never greet you when you enter the store making you feel unwelcome. I have never gone there and not felt ripped off. Just because they are the only 24 hour store on the East side of town does not justify these inflated prices lack of customer service and lack of respect towards customers spending their hard earned money there. You can't be talking about business at three AM every single night, I would have been in trouble had I been yaking on the phone when I worked at FasGas, I understand if it was because he is calling the RCMP, but this is every night and he is not chatting in English. For now on I will be walking the extra distance to 711 where I am valued as a customer.
