My 2 children has been at the childrens house daycare for 3 and 1 years respectively. We love this place, the teachers and all the experiences and relationships they offer. They have some really caring and engaged teachers, they offer full day riverbottom adventures that’s way beyond I would ever expect or have heard from other daycares, as well as skating and swimming day for the older kids. We are very thankful we ended up here with our kids.

My son has been attending Children's House since March of 2019. He has amazing friends and loves the educators there. The educators take the kids current interests into account when creating programming and planning and it's nice to hear him talk about his learnings when he comes home. Everything from Paw Patrol, outer space, how flowers grow and what sinks and floats. He enjoys the menu and food offered, the amount of outside time provided and his friends. If asked, his favorite thing would be the Riverbottom Program. He loves when he get to go to the riverbottom all day exploring- Jenn and Leslee have done an amazing job with this program! My daughter has just recently joined the Birch room and we are comfortable knowing she is being well taken care of while I return to work. They work with her evolving routines while she transitions and she is happy when I drop off and pick up! I would recommend Children's House to anyone who asks because of the educators there and the relationships we have established with them and the other families. What could change would be the large increase in fees for subsized families compared to the fees of unsubsidized families, which defeats the purpose of the subsidy. Fees for subsidized families are the highest in the city and above provincial averages.

My daughter has attended Children’s House daycare since April 2020. The teachers are experienced and great at creating and encouraging learning experiences. They have an app that allows parents to contact teachers directly and see updates of activities. The teachers are wonderful at posting photos and telling stories of what your child is learning and playing. This past year our daughter has been in the Kindergarten class. The class size is small which allows them to be more individualized to the children. They have multiple field trips and also done skating and swimming. Another awesome feature of Children’s house is the ability for us to drop off before work and pickup after work. She stays at the same location for kindergarten so no need to arrange transport. They also serve meals on site which is fantastic. We are very happy with the care and learning our daughter has received at Childrens House. The central location is convenient and allows them to do field trips within walking distance. I feel that our daughter is well prepared for grade one both socially and educationally thanks to the team at Children’s house.

The kindergarten refuses to access and provide proper supports for children with disabilities, or problems such as ADHD. Instead they will continuously send the child home during kindergarten hours, depriving them of an education. Beyond sad and frustrated my son has been completely deprived of his kindergarten end year due to the faith i had in this program. He attended the daycare since he was 3 and lost someone very close to him in October resulting in a sudden drop in behaviour and the daycare responded in continuously sending my son home. I wish I would of just sent him to a public school in the first place so he wouldnt of had to deal with everything this program put on him. I found out after they basically kicked him out that they refused to have contacted and access the appropriate supports for my son & his suspected ADHD, like having put in place an IPP.

I have worked at Children’s House for 3 years now, educators have a very low turnaround rate and staff are all highly trained! Children’s House follows the “FLIGHT early learning framework”, which has helped give me a new perspective on childcare! I have learned so much from my experiences at Children’s House & can’t wait to continue learning more!

I have had the privilege of working alongside an amazing team of educators for the last 7 years at Children’s House. We provide a variety of educating styles that are supported through Alberta’s Flight Curriculum. I am always excited to get to start my day greeting our families and seeing what new interests we can nurture together!

I would like to post a warning for other parents here. my child attended children’s house for several months, in that time my 3 year old completely changed, she was having extreme behavioural issue that only began to worsen with time. When my child is at home she is a good kid, she has tantrums as any other child would but nothing I would describe as abnormal for her age. Every day I started receiving incident reports of extreme tantrums & aggression. In the morning my daughter would cry and tell me she was scared to go to daycare. They continued to send her home consistently due to this behaviour which resulted in me having to leave school, miss exams and other important thing as well as my boyfriend missing work. They would use “redirection” but it never worked and they made it feel like it was my fault that this was happening, when I offered solutions as to what I use at home I was shut down and told that my solutions would not work, because of this I got in contact with a psychologist who was willing to observe my daughter in the daycare as well as at home but they have long waiting list right now and a month before the psychologist had a chance to help with a plan they terminated my daughter contract because of her behaviour not improving. I have had 3 people I know come forward and tell me about their experiences at this daycare. One parent told me her 3 year old child cannot even drive by the daycare without crying and that their child is completely traumatized for an unknown reason, the other two told me their children also experienced personality changes throughout their time here & that their children were extremely scared to attend this daycare as well as the owner being extremely rude to the parents. The owner allegedly told a friend of mine she does not care what happens to the children after they leave the centre. Everything I’ve heard from other is alleged but all 3 children were pulled from this daycare by their parents. IF YOUR CHILD HAS ADHD, AUTISM OR BEHAVIOURAL ISSUES DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE, even if they don’t have issues please be cautious with who you chose to leave your children with. Again everything but MY own experience is alleged I just wanted to post this as a warning for others. There is a few teachers that go above and beyond for the children & truly do care but that isn’t always enough.
