I'm about a size 1x and so tired of things that look like a tent. These dresses hug me and make me look awesome. I wear them to work and dinner and around the house just to feel good. My favourite memory is when I wore the dress and a crinoline to see my great aunt before she passed away. She couldn't talk, but she looked up at me and smiled, gave me a thumbs up and a wink. Thank you for that moment and so many more.

What's worse is they were both so simple they seem unfinished and each have multiple loose threads, making the dresses look much cheaper than their large price tag. The company asked me to provide a review but then censored it because it wasn't 5 stars.

The quality is great and it is so nice to get something made in Canada! Best of all the dresses suit all body types!

I love everything about them, from the deliciously quirky prints, and form flattering, body positive designs, to the wonderful and warm customer service! Both in person, and online, Cherry Velvet aims to please. My first dress purchase (or gateway drug, as I’m prone to calling it), was an online one, and I was apprehensive, because I really don’t like buying clothes without trying them on. No worries here though, as CV provides a detailed sizing chart. I measured, ordered and it was great. Shipping is always quick, and I was so impressed with the fit, and quality of the dress, and I really appreciate that they are made here in Canada, by workers earning a living wage. The staff at CV answers any messages promptly, and helps make the choice easier. Since then, I’ve made several more online purchases, and have travelled to Vancouver twice to attend the monthly studio shop, which is an experience not to be missed. My girlfriends and I were like kids in a candy store, and it was really lovely to meet Diane and Barb in person. They are so helpful and friendly, positive and relaxed, and made shopping a joy. The real joy though, is going to a place with lovely things that actually fit and flatter a plus size body. This designer really understands how to make a lady of size feel happy and confident. The only negative here is trying to decide which one(s) to take home...

I have never had so many compliments on an item of clothing, or so questions as to where I bought it. I now own four dresses, and it's only through sheer will power that the number isn't far higher. Every friend I've introduced to Cherry Velvet also loves their dresses - they are delighted to find dresses that both match their personalities and fit their bodies. I also really appreciate how patient the staff are at the studio sales - they let me try on dress after dress after dress, and work with me to figure out what styles might best fit my body.
