β β β β β I requested to speak with Mr. Max Cheng this afternoon about the legal process of buying my first home and the billing process. However, I was questioned by his legal clerks as to why I would want to do so. First of all, she was annoyed that I asked for a billing process because she could not give me an exact number. She asked for my purchase price but then dropped the idea and said she would transfer me to another lady about the billing process. She then kept questioning my reason for speaking with Mr. Max Cheng. I had to explain to her that there were many real estate lawyers working in the Toronto region and he were just one name that my realtor had given to me, therefore, I have no idea how he or his services are. I wanted to interview several lawyers and see who was the best at their job. She then proceeded to rudely laugh in my face about my request and she kept laughing to the point where she could not breathe. I was so shocked that I told her "Never mind, I'll try somebody else." Her response: more wheezing laughter and without another word, she HUNG UP on me.
I was not given a quote for how much this lawyer would cost, I was not informed about the legal process, I was refused a chance to speak with my prospective lawyer and worst of all, I was ridiculed and mocked over the phone for requesting a conversation with him.
If you care about your business, may I suggest that the first step would be to ensure that you have respectful and competent staff that understand the requirements of customer service. Final point: I will be taking my business elsewhere to a much more competent and professional office.
