Chartwell Fountains of Mission - Calgary

I have lived at the Fountains of Mission for 9 years since April 1st, 2010. I have loved every minute of my time here. Our staff have always been happy and obliging. I have made many dear friends here and we all agree that we have the best meals, entertainment ever and feel secure and very fortunate. Our families feel the same way which is comforting to them also. I still drive at 92 and feel I still have all my mental faculties pretty well, play bridge, go to the theaters and enjoy everything I want to do.

My parents started staying at the Fountains of Mission in August of 2019. They have looked after my parents wonderfully. The staff is very caring and goes above and beyond if needed. The food is excellent with an award winning chef. The environment has been updated and is lovely and comfortable. There is also lots of recreational fun to keep everyone busy if you so choose. My mom and dad were separated after 60 years during Covid and the staff kept and extra eye on my dad to make sure he was ok and it gave us all a great peace of mind knowing he was ok. I highly recommend the Fountains of Mission.

Moving is stressful at any time, but in the midst of COVID-19, even more so. The staff at Fountains of Mission were — and continue to be — accommodating, patient and kind, making the move for our family, in challenging times, work. We’ve found both the residents and staff warm and friendly creating a welcoming atmosphere. The activities are interesting and relevant. The location, perfect for neighbourhood walks and convenient to many amenities within walking distance. Fountains truly is a lovely place to call home.

The Chartwell Fountains of Mission in Calgary is a first-rate establishment! I am so glad that my Mom moved there a year ago. And particularly during this pandemic, it has been very comforting to know that my Mom is so well cared for with respect to her safety. She is really enjoying living there and only has good things to say. Thank you to the staff and management for the great work they are doing!

Our mother lived at Fountains of Mission from March 2017 to May 2021, until she had to move to a long-term care facility. She loved her time at Fountains. All of the staff took such excellent care of her and were always so kind and helpful to my family and me. They were also always very responsive to any queries we had. The overall quality of accommodations, dining room, common areas, etc. is quite high. You always felt you were in a higher end condo with very attentive service. My family and I can't thank you enough, Fountains staff, for taking such excellent care of our mother!

I made the choice to move into The Fountains of Mission during the summer of 2012. I chose it because of all the terrific walking opportunities with the river being on three sides of us. 4th street is very close and has everything I would want or need. I have been and still am an active member of our valuable Resident Council and a proud Ambassador to guide our new Residents through everyday life at The Fountains. We have a variety of excellent entertainment and abundant exercise opportunities. I am very well fed with enjoyable delicious food and my beautiful suite is where I call home. I like that I live independently but any assistance I may need is at my fingertips. Lovely location, great food, companionship and beautiful surroundings. Who needs more??

I am always looking forward to going to the Fountains of Mission location as I serve their community as their mobile Dental Hygienist. I have been working in this residence for a number of years and have had the pleasure to meet so many residents! They are well supported by a cheerful and upbeat staff that ALWAYS has something nice to say and a smile to greet me on the days that I am there. I often ask the residents what's for lunch and dinner that day and they always rave about the food! In addition, there are lots of fun things on the activity board to take advantage of with Lisa running the schedule. Nancy is the GM there and she is truly invested in these residents and their experience living in this community at the Fountains. The location is fantastic with a number of medical/dental offices and amenities nearby (I should know as I used to live in Mission!) The Fountains of Mission is just a good place to visit as a care provider and as far as I can tell, a great place to live too! I work at a number of seniors' residences in Calgary as a mobile dental provider so I have a good sense of the merits of this particular location, and it stands out as a special gem in Calgary. I've been visiting a long time friend at Fountains of Mission for about 10 years and as a designated visitor for her during the pandemic. I'm impressed with the quality of care, respect, kindness and genuine caring that the staff exhibits over the years. Many of the same staff I continue to see ten years later, which speaks volumes in itself. At the request of my friend and her husband, my being with them during the mornings Monday to Friday, while he was on Palliative Care, not only affirmed my observations but served to increase my admiration and trust in Chartwell as a home for Independent Retirement Living as well as those who need some extra assistance. I've enjoyed meals which are tasty and nutritious, whether an invitation to lunch, brunch or Thanksgiving Dinner Celebration. I marvel at the success of Chartwell Corporate but, in particular, Fountains of Mission in their unrelenting diligence, dedication and perseverance in following the protocols of the COVID-19 and variants to NOT have one resident contract the disease!!! That is an amazing feat ... AS a designated visitor, I appreciate the regular updates which the GM sends pertaining to the pandemic and any protocol changes within the residence along with words of wisdom, encouragement and insights. I'm grateful for my experience and express my best wishes for continued success in all your endeavours. My friend only has good things to say, of her feeling "at home" in Fountains along with gratitude and appreciation for the people who live and work here.
