My son loves the center and the educators! The places are well maintained and the direction is superb. There are also sometimes social events at the end of the week. The CAPF offers a very nice experience for us!

With our 3rd son we discovered the CAPF. Through some miracle, several people simultaneously kept bringing up the place at a time when our second home based Daycare closed within 2 weeks of each other. And it turned out that all these parents were people I respected and whose approach to parenting I admired. I work part time with an irregular schedule and they are amazing at coordinating with. Their answer to almost everything has been: "Sure! Whadda you need?" Which led me to realise i probably had Daycare rigidity trauma residual from our past experiences! He's so happy when he goes. He's learning quickly with the mixed age groups. The educators are dynamite. The programming is engaging. Kids there are always "doing there thing" in a way that reminds me of Montessori. I wish i had known about it sooner. When I was on mat leave and could have dropped off my toddler 3 times a week for activities and to keep me sane instead of having to choose a full time Daycare. The best part: i feel no guilt at all. I'm with him 1-2 days each week. And he's happy when he's there. I feel like we've escaped the Daycare guilt grind. The downside: The outdoor play yard could benefit from greenery. And you have to pack your own lunch. Which is a blessing when you eat well at home. And at first the groups seem large - but once he's known to the other kids and they start shepherding him, it's really the sweetest thing.

If I were to note all of the things I appreciate and admire about le Centre d'activités préscolaires et familiales (CAPF), it would read like an essay. Instead, it`s much easier to write about the things I don`t like: these include...ummm. It`s far from my house? The list starts and ends there, which explains why both my kids either currently attend, or did attend, Le Centre, despite the very long commute. In all seriousness, I can`t recommend le CAPF strongly enough. The quality of instruction is fantastic. Their educators are passionate, patient and professional. Their coordinators and management team are extremely devoted, experienced, competent and proactive. They offer a multitude of innovative and stimulating pedagogic programs which are tailored to meet the educational, socio-affective and developmental needs of kids. They also work closely with parents as partners in educating and socializing your child. In the 4 years my kids have attended there, I have not been disappointed a single time. If anything, my only grievance is that they do such a good job that they inflated my expectations of Quebec`s school system. Compared to the Centre, the first 3 months of kindergarten have been a rude awakening. If you`re looking for a quality daycare, do yourself a favour and see if space is available at the Centre. If you do, odds are that a few years from now you`ll be writing a similar testimonial as an act of public service for fellow parents.
