About Centec Electric & Controls Ltd
In the 1990s, a group of individuals lead by Scott Johnston saw the need for better electrical services for industrial companies in the Brandon, Manitoba area. Realizing that not all journeyman electricians are the same, these individuals decided to accommodate the local industrial companies and concentrate their efforts in this field. In the beginning of 2000, Centec Electric was formed. Where a company’s internal electrical departments could not accommodate particular services (i.e. major improvements, maintenance or installations), Centec was there to ensure the job was completed on time, safely and to the level of quality that was required.
In 2005, Centec became COR safety certified and has held an exceptional score every year since that first audit. In 2016, Centec obtained our ISO 9001:2015 certification of registration as an acknowledgement of our level of quality.
For the office staff, Centec has an extremely low turnover rate which is contributed to the management mindset and how Centec is run as a company. As of 2018, the “newest” staff members will have completed their 5th year anniversary. These new staff members were brought on because of the company’s growth, not replacements.
Finally, Centec has the type of environment where we all have responsibilities, but we don’t have titles. With any process of problem solving, everyone has a voice and no one is left to carry the burden of a responsibility.
