We have just completed another major renovation project with Cedarbrae and we couldn’t be more pleased. We started with Dennis some 12 years ago when we essentially re-built our entire house over a six month period of time. [. . .] Dennis remained in contact with us and continued to provide advice and help with all of our issues. He was always willing to help out – either himself or one of his hand-picked sub-contractors. When it came time to repair and renovate again, we went directly to Dennis and he came to advise, estimate and plan the project. His estimates are well thought out, fair and accurate.
Dennis is the contractor but he is also the main builder; he comes to work every day and he is very much “hands on” and involved. This time we were able to live in the house while we renovated and somehow Dennis and his team were able to leave the worksite clean and safe and the house quite livable at the end of each day. Probably his best feature is his flexibility and willingness to adapt and modify. He has excellent suggestions with respect to materials and building methods and he is certainly up to date and well connected with suppliers.

It was a major renovation, in which we basically tore down the inside of our bungalow to the bare walls, changed the internal floor plan, and then still added a second floor. At the time, he impressed us with his incredible knowledge on everything contracting. More yet with the type of person he is and with the care he showed even before beginning the project. We chose him among three offers we had and have never looked back. For all who have not gone through a major renovation of their house - it is a very stressful job. Sub-trades do not do the work they are supposed to or just plain do not show up. Dennis sheltered us from all of this by being our advocate through every step. He fought every fight on our behalf and made sure that in the end no issue became a lasting or a financial issue for us. We are extremely happy with the work he did. Our professional relationship did not end there though. He has been looking after every little issue in our house ever since with the utmost reliability. I truly feel he cares about us - his clients - and the lasting and enduring quality of the work he did for us. For all who are trying to decide on a contractor in this ocean of possibilities out there, realize that the most important thing you can ever find in a contractor is ongoing care after the contracts have been signed and money has exchanged hands. Dennis is second to none when it comes to that. Highest recommendation!

Overall a good experience, he provided great suggestions, responded to questions on a timely basis and was open about any changes in cost before they were incurred. Where there were small issues as would be expected with a large job he rectified these issues on a timely basis. Compared to other experiences I have heard of where people deal with large contractors and can't get answers was glad I went for a contractor that provided a more personal experience and was open to small changes as the project progressed.
