Walk there daily. Beautiful spot. Dogs welcome. It is customary when people are on the beach that dogs go to the left side and families to the right. I swear this park has the cleanest outhouse I have ever seen! Launching a boat at low tide can be more than just tricky. We are 22 ft and at low tide my husband just keeps yelling hit the gas and slam on the breaks! All I think is what if we hit a drop off. My biggest complaint is kayakers blocking the boat ramp and loading and unloading while people are launching or bringing in boats. The road is narrow and full of cars and the ramp is tiny. They should be considerate of other boaters trying to back down the ramp and get their vehicles off the ramp, not park on it. I have even seen them park and meet in the boat turnaround. Not very boat conscious! I have added pics of extreme low tide, ithis boat launch is unusable when tides are extremely low!

Busier in recent years, but no less beautiful. Locals can be a bit "crabby" with tourists, as this is in a neighborhood area - don't be fooled, this is a public place! Just be sure to pay close attention to the parking area signs, as there is a boat launch that needs space on BOTH sides of the road entry near the bottom. One of my favourite daytime/evening hangout spots, but is overcome by earwigs at night time. Though, if you're explorative enough, night time is the perfect (and only) time to experience the bioluminescent plankton's glow!

Very steep ramp, the beach is packed full of big logs, and left overs from campfires.

My favorite beach on low tide you can walk for miles. Great place to launch your kayake from. Three islands to explore close by.

Not the greatest of boat ramps. I personally would want to launch anything above 20'. Location is spectacular tho. Stunning view, worth making the journey

May 17/2018. The name here is a discrepancy because the map is listed different than what the RDN has it called,as Nelson Road Community Boat Launch.Check with the RDN website for more information.Stephanie Nash has the correct name with a picture. The park has a lot to offer with porta pot for those special moments.A sign that had a warning to lock and secure your car, this is trouble some to say the least.A boat ramp with a turn around for small craft is my favorite.Low tide would be great for more fun to explore the beach area.Have fun and play safe.
