★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I engaged Stephen Moreau of Cavaluzzo LLP to support the negotiation of a separation agreement with my employer of over 12 years, a publicly listed company on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX).
There was complexity in terms of tax planning over a 2 year timeframe including direct RSP contributions and the disbursement of settlement funds.
Further there was complexity in terms of incentive stock options - both existing/outstanding which remained in place through the notice period, as well as new stock options issued as part of the settlement.
Stephen filed a wrongful dismissal suit, represented me at mediation, as well as a follow up motion hearing after the employer refused to honor the mediation settlement.
Stephen was concise in all communications and systematically addressed all matters as they were brought forward. He was engaged at all times and was always prompt in his responses to my queries.
Without any doubt, he is an expert in the employment law field.
