I finally won. I won big after only one pull on a slot machine I was just passing by at the Bellagio. I was ecstatic. I knew there were taxes on US casino winnings, but when the time came to collect my winnings I still had a shock when I saw how much tax was deducted from my jackpot. But you got it back for me. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a cash grab. I paid Casino Tax Rebate a huge fee and I have seen nothing in 2yrs. Just google “how to obtain and ITIN # for a Canadian”. You will have to go through this process anyways even if use Casino Tax Rebate. Then under your ITIN # registered with IRS, file a 1040-NR, fill out row 62d and attach your 1042-S slips the casino provides you showing your withholding tax. It takes less than 15 min to complete.
Casino Tax Rebate spends more time filling out your Power of Attorney and Consent forms to have access to your account than it does filing the actual 1040-NR. Do it yourself & keep your money.
They cannot provide any details on what they have done for me other than file 1040NR (to which they made a mistake on, resulting in more delays). They also won’t provide you a copy of the 1040-NR, probably because they don’t want you to see how simple it is. I was asked to provide this to the IRS and Casino Tax Rebate refused to give me a copy. They DO NOT provide follow up service once they get paid. I DO NOT recommend and I am furthering my complaint to the BBB.
