This is a really nice golf course.. Unfortunately for us we played right after a storm. A third of the greens an a good portion of the course was covered in wet cotton wood "fluff. Making golf balls incredible hard to find. And you had to clear paths through the stuff to make shots on the greens.. Not a fault if the course management or green keepers.. We played minutes after the storm passed. But disappointing none the less..

What a great experience, my husband and I went here for the first time and fell in love with it. It's a beautiful walking course with lots of details at each hole and not a hard course. The fairways were very well kept and facilities were clean. The reason it's a 4 star and not 5 is because the power carts were very dirty, not a big deal but my skirt and shirt got pretty dirty, it would have been nice if they were wiped down. HIGHLY recommend this course. We love it so much we will be getting season passes next year for sure. Happy golfing

I know this will fall on deaf ears as carstairs has completely given up on this course but I'll write it anyway. Over the last year or so, since the city took over the course you don't see anyone working on the course compared to other courses, they don't even have anyone working the restaurant or shack till the afternoon. Haven't changed up merch in the pro shop, over book times and let foul play go non stop as there's never a Marshall. NOW onto the course, this course is in such bad shape that I will literally never step foot onto it again, it's been taken over by clover and weeds everywhere, they don't use any city water to keep up and don't even try, if I was the groundskeeper I would quit just so my name is not associates with it. Besides it being one of the easier courses in the city and one of the cheapest the best thing they can do is sell it and do something productive with the land instead of completely ruining the reputation it did have once upon a time. My father bought a membership here and now it's a chore just for him to want to play it. You should be refunding those that bought under the promise the course would be taken care of, but you can't do that because there's no manager to even speak to. Very disappointed in this place and the condition they let it get too.

Carstairs Golf Course , well let me start off that it’s a reasonably priced course , fairly well maintained. But this review is going in a different direction. I know this is a golf course , how ever we went there today for Father’s Day , invited by my daughter for a Father’s Day meal . It had to be one of the most disappointing experience I have had in a long time , including all this disappointments from this Covid shut down . To start off the waitress was less than knowledgeable of the liquor menu. She gave us the food menu, which I might add is very limited. The table next to us the gentleman was having a steak sandwich, how ever this was not on the menu nor did she bother to tell us that this happened to be the special for the day . Kind of thinking this might be something she should know . After she came to the conclusion that we could order this , three of us did . This had to be the sorriest excuse for a steak sandwich I ever had , or should I say we all ever had . Mine was cold , tasteless .. not even so much as a dash of salt .I wanted to send it back , but she never came back . Very disappointed.the other member of our party ordered a burger platter . That the waitress told us the kitchen staff made a boo boo an that he would have to wait another 10 mins . The waitress never once asked how are food was , nor do I think she really care . Like I said this is a golf course. Go play golf enjoy ... bring your own food or go to the Tim’s down the road ... never again !

Beautiful scenery and a well groomed course. They don't seem to have the standard tee positions for ladies though so I ended up hitting from the whites.
