Cardinal - Ottawa South KOA Holiday

We had a great stay at the KOA. The recreation facilities were top-notch, and kept our kids well entertained (they are 3 and 10, so it can be challenging to find things to do that appeal to both of them). Staff were helpful, the site was clean and safe. We will be back next summer!

Karen & Daniel - we visited your KOA these past couple of days and we can’t tell you enough how thankful we are to have gone to such an amazing, clean and well maintained facility - filled with smiles, positive energy & happiness from EVERYONE! Hubby and I (6 months pregnant) were joined by our little 2 year old princess. We were hesitant to travel the distance not knowing what to expect (an hour) - but you went above and beyond. We didn’t have a vehicle this time around & Karen + Daniel exceeded our expectations accommodating our situation durning the few hours we were stuck wondering. Their cabin’s were very clean and well equipped with bar fridge, tv, DVD’s available for free at the store (DVD tray built in to tv). AC & Heat, mini fridge, quite a few electrical outlets included also! I do recommend searching it for crickets prior to falling asleep BUT that’s an easy solution! Washrooms were absolutely spotless and thoroughly cleaned and stocked consistently durning our entire stay! Pool was fabulous, water park was amazing - bonus was the “big bouncer” & little “big bouncer” for my 2 year old to enjoy also! (Very safe). I felt very comfortable with all the park equipment and maintenance. We really did appreciate the quiet time aspect for the kids and felt so safe durning the evenings. If we could give 10 stars, we would - but just know, we will be making this our go to seasonal location cabin spot every year with our little growing family.

5 stars for cleanliness! And the woman who went around dropping off wood ,cleaning the washrooms and sanitizing the pool area. She was fantastic, friendly and worked really hard yo make things fun for everyone. If you have kids under 7 or 8 this place is great! Swimming was bogus... had to make an appointment to swim... showing up Friday unaware that you can book online up to 48 hours before.... there were no spots to swim until Saturday at 7pm... which is the only thing that would have been fun for children over 8. We just went to the beach 25 minutes away. Everything shuts down by 9 to silence.. and most are in bed by 10pm Which again is great for people with young kids. It's a not place for all all ages but a very nice place.

I originally rated this place a 4 out of 5 after my husband, myself and 3 year old took a trip there. We had a great time with our son so decided to go back with some family members. After our second visit i am rating this a 2. I was super disappointed with the way we were treated by the owners. We knew the place had a lot of rules. But we were shocked at the tone of voice and the way they talked to us when they were coming over to remind of us the rules (we were there with some people who hadn't been there before so weren't 100% aware of the rules) It did not seem like they appreciated our business (we rented 2 sites and 2 cabins, so spent quite a bit of $ that weekend as a group). It's too bad as the kids had a blast with all the stuff for them to do there. We will not be going back and will try a different campground next year. The place is kept very clean. I suggest reading all the rules ahead of time and if you are ok with all of them then make sure you adhere to them to a T or else you will get a 'talking to'. I also suggest bringing your own firewood as it is $$$ to buy on site and is a pretty small bag.

We had an excellent time at this KOA. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in the J section which had lots of shade and was really close to the amenities. The washrooms were clean and bright and there was plenty of warm water. The property was thoughtfully landscaped. We loved that we were able to charge purchases to the site and pay with our choice debit or credit at the end. It was great not to have to worry about carrying cash or a wallet around. There was plenty of space on our site. We also loved the convenience of the on site chip truck and pizza place. We can't wait to go back!

owner is a real piece of work. rude. unreal that he has this place. breaks my heart to see human waste like this making money. talk about non deserving. contacted KOA org. they don't care either. its a sad place to go. not worth the hassle. go somewhere else. this guy needs to suffer, only way he will learn if his bushiness dries up. that's what he deserves, a real classless a$$. stay away.

Been coming camping here for at least the last 3 years, and we love this place. Great for the whole family with lots of activities for everyone. Our kids love the play structures, bounce pillows, pool and splash pad (when they are open in the summer). The staff put in a lot of effort during the summer making each weekend a different theme, with themed activities and events. Sites and facilities are very nice, and all of the staff is super friendly and helpful. Will continue camping here with the family for many years to come!

Came for a visit at the end of July. We stayed in one of the cabins. The campground is well maintained. There were a lot of rules. We did our best to follow them. The fact we could only use pool in 30 minute increments was a little excessive. Hopefully when the pandemic restrictions soften they will let more people use pool as it really made things less fun. The owners were ok. We didn't have a bad experience with them but when I did speak to them they certainly weren't the nicest or best hosts that we have had at KOA's. The owners weren't mean. Just seemed busy all the time. Can't be easy to run a business in a pandemic so I have to say it wasn't a deal breaker for us. The campground was only about half full. Perhaps the pandemic was the reason why or maybe the bad reviews are finally catching up to them. We used this campground as a base to go visit Ottawa. Drive to Ottawa wasn't bad. Was nice to have all the outdoor activities for the kids.
