The installer initially said it would be under warranty when he saw them, but after discussing it with his boss came back and said it was our fault. He blustered through trying to say there was too much moisture in our house (a brand new Leed built home with electric heat), then perhaps our sink or dishwasher were giving off too much moisture and causing them to delaminate, even though the cabinets closest to the dishwasher were the ones not affected, ironically. He stood firm and refused to back up his product, even though it was him who had initially suggested the material may have had moisture in it prior to painting and the paint had sealed it in! Incredulous to say the least. 5 years on and we still have ugly delaminating cabinets that we can't bring ourselves to spend money on to replace.

Our contractor Roy, who had worked with CanWest Cabinetry, suggested that we talk to the owner, Leon Minosky. Leon came to our house and measured for the new kitchen, a built-in buffet in another area, as well as a new vanity for our powder room. CanWest offered more customized cabinets at a similar price as other quotes we got. Because this is a family run business, there is a lot of pride taken in the work they all do. Every detail of the installation was carefully completed, from the hanging of doors to the placement of handles. Every day we still pinch ourselves because we can’t believe the amazing transformation CanWest created in our house!

When it came to deciding what I wanted to do with my walk-in closet I was incredibly overwhelmed but I am so excited to say, I now have my dream closet which I’m obsessed with! Not only were they professional and fun to work with but they managed to custom build and install my closet system quicker than expected (yes, even during a pandemic!) They made the whole process easy,stress free and COVID friendly. I can’t thank them enough! I have already recommended them to a family friend for her new kitchen cabinets, I can’t wait to see how those turn out. Thanks again!

Although I was amazed by the complexity and the design of his free spirit, the white cabinets never fully recovered. So, I decided to take this opportunity to remodel. As I scoured the internet looking for someone who could accommodate my love for interior design, I stumbled upon Canwest, I was delighted to see quality products with even better quality craftsmanship. Truly magnificent, I couldn't be happier. Working with Lara was amazing, she had a keen eye on my style, she was super easy to work with aswell definitely a pleasurable experience all around. 5/5 for me. Picture for before reference.
