★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the soup of the day. A chilli heat goodness that was great! Staff was very friendly and happy to chat a bit even when busy. A great place to stop in Lakefield for a bite, with the ice cream shop right beside it's an easy choice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The building has two entrances: one to the coffee and sandwich shop and the other to the restaurant. Same owners. The pub is an excellent English pub. Nice decor and very friendly service and patrons. Full bar: liquor, beer and wine. Interesting menu. The items we ordered were prepared so well and tasted so good. Some of the best English food we have had. The Yorkshire pudding was cooked to perfection. The fish and chips was lightly battered and very crispy with juicy fish inside. The sticky toffee was well prepared and so tasty!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Before I talk about our incredible experience here, I'd like to address an awful review I read about this place. Someone gave this pub a brutal review because they were called out for seating themselves and refusing to move when asked to. Get this....on St. Patty's Day of all days when anyone with a brain would know, there's going to be a wait. So...if you see that review...skip it...those people are bot right in the head and although management has handled it well in the response, I just needed to say that.
Now...we tried Canoe and Paddle out on Wednesday and not only was the customer service from Allison top notch, but her menu knowledge was excellent. She helped us out in so many ways by being above and beyond accommodating with our take out needs. Thank you so much Allison, you made our night. Now the food that made me moan ooooo's and ahhhhh's the entire time. The tomato feta soup was to die for. The heartbreak panini was perfect in every way and my fav was the salad with goat cheese, almonds and candied salmon. I will drive far to you to get that again!!! We WILL be back to discover more of your exciting menu and experience more awesome staff. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Even though they were short staffed with only 2 servers on at a Saturday lunch rush we recieved fantastic service, the food was delicious and the prices and variety were great. Kudos to the servers for working their butts off and providing a great experience!!
