Always so beautiful in Algonquin country. Kids catch n release fish. Bike rides. Spacious beaches. Signs bears in area. Didn't see them, however they had left calling card in a vacant camp site, so they were close by. Wished we could have stayed longer. Ponderosa Pines are huge.

It was an amazing Canoe Camping experience at Canisbay lake. We found a great campground on lakeside to stay. But there are alot of mosquitoes, prepare accordingly to wear full sleeves clothes and to put some mosquito repellent spray. Sound of water while canoeing, the wind and the view were really mesmerizing.

This was my first time at Canisbay Lake Campground. I found the site pretty easily and to my surprise it didn’t look anything like the photo online. It’s not as private as I thought. We had site 167 and the forest behind us isn’t as dense as pictured but the site was close enough to the bathroom/showers and had lots of space. We only used half the site and photographed only half the site. The campfire pits are nice with a grate. The lake is a short walk from the site. There is no store on the camp ground just the registration office where you can buy firewood, canoe route maps and an Algonquin Park sticker. Other items and even a restaurant (Lake of Two Rivers Cafe) can be found a few KMs away down the road. Thanks for having us!

It was an ok campground. Nice size camping site. Can hear animals at night. Downfalls - campsites are close enough that you can see each other, bugs are quite annoying, nothing really to do around the park except maybe hiking spots and 1 small beach. A lot of the toilets are outhouse style and showers are quite far from a lot of sites.

We have been coming to this campground for many years and have had good time. This year was going well until Camp Ranger J Roach ruined our party. We were 6 families and booked 6 sites in 1-52 area. We stayed there for 3 nights. First two nights were fine, but on last day at 5 pm J Roach came to our location and falsely accused that we are making too much noise. it was day time, we weren't playing any music or consuming any alcohol. The kids were running around and adults were sitting around the talking. At the same night when adults were sitting by the fire, and kids were playing cards, Mr. Roach came again and fined us for being loud and then changed his statement and said more than 6 people are not supposed to sit together. We felt we were sort of racially profiled. We asked our neighboring sites, and none of them had any complaints. These times where people are suffering from pandemic and few avenues to have good time outside together, the park management should show some compassion and work with people instead of issuing fines or evicting people.

Considering many tours were closed due to COVID..but had a great campsite, right by the water You need to drive to various trails due to the size of the park Outhouses..dont use! Stink and full of flies, but the flush toilets are ok but no lighting, unless ur in there during the day Small beach. Pebbles, so watershoes are recommended If you go to the outlook...be prepared for a hard, vertical climb...but the view is well worth it

First thing to note: we had a large group and stayed on campsites 46 and 47. The privacy in this particular area (sites 1-52) isn’t so good. You can see and hear many other campsites as there aren’t many trees/bushes between sites. The MAIN WASHROOM (one with the showers) is pretty good! There are 8 showers and 3-single-washrooms, which is great for privacy. The only issue with the single washroom is you may have to wait a long time if many people are using it. The showers are not timed, which is nice. The beach is decent but a bit rocky for the first bit - then you reach the sand. They have a nice grassy area where the beach is as well. Overall, this was a decent campsite. They lose one star because on the day of our arrival, one of the park rangers told us that we had noise complaints from “yesterday”. False accusations are not acceptable.

We booked this campsite kind of last minute out of probably cancellations by others late Jul 2021 and spent 2 nights, 3 days. It was a delightful experience even though it rained almost a full day. The access of the site, privacy and cleanliness were fine. A newly arrived neighboring camper did bother us late night with loud music out of their truck for 30-45 minutes until someone (not sure if a park ranger or not) shut them down. The toilets were okay, without any lighting so you definitely need your headlight. The firewood we bought upon entering the park were literally soaked, therefore we had a really hard time getting ourselves a decent campfire, considering the chilly 10-15 c degrees nights.
