Ì worked 12 years non union and I can tell you it wasn't til CUSW that I finally have a voice. CUSW is about Canadians and all Canadians no matter what we do we all matter and CUSW will stand behind you no matter what.

A great union to be part of. A union that takes time to call back must mean it's a busy union. C.U.S.W is my union. Support your local unit. Best union in Canada . I support Canadian unions for Canadians.

This union is a joke. Joined before Christmas last year, haven't received a phone call or email for any sort of work and I've been paying dues to them since then for nothing. It's next to impossible to get someone to return your emails and phone calls or get answers about anything. They'll sign you up just to pay dues to put money in their own pockets. I do NOT recommend this union to anyone. There are far better ones to join for what ever trade you're looking for that offer lots of work and treat you way better. No stars

Been a member of CUSW for about 4 years. This union is valuable in a way that all unions are important. We vote towards a mutual collective agreement where wages and benefits are usually a bit better then the normal trade average. However when you need the help, the union is for the employers and not the employees. A good analogy is to think of this union like a terrible insurance plan, they will offer you all the benefits but when you get in an accident they will not follow through.

Horrible Union. In my experience they do not enforce the collective agreement when informed it is not being adhered to by employer. This is not a union for the workers but is for management. Zero communication in the sign up process, zero communication during work dispatch and I have not had any communications after informing of my notice. They are fantastic at receiving dues, but they do not use them to benefit the worker. I will never work with CUSW again.
