Calgary Massage, Microneedling & Facials - Gelous Spa - Calgary

I highly recommend Gelous Spa. I have been going to Gelous Spa for massages and facials for a few years now. Helena is very friendly and professional. Helena is very knowledgeable about the products that she uses and often has excellent recommendations whether it's for product or treatment options. The infrared blanket has forever changed massages for me. It helps relax and warm my muscles before, during and after my treatment. The new location is beautiful, comfortable and easily accessible. I am always looking forward to my treatments at Gelous Spa. Thank you Helena!

Helena is one of the best If not the best masseuse in Calgary . I tried several other places in Calgary and none quite compared to Gelous Spa. I have been going to Helena for over 2 years and have never been disappointed. She is professional and goes above and beyond to provide comfort and relaxation to her clients. SW Calgary is lucky to have this talent in the area. Though I am all the way in SE Calgary I have no problem making the trip to the new location. The service is worth the trip. I would recommend Gelous Spa to anyone that wants a relaxing experience in a calm, beautiful space.

This is an extensive review of my first visit to Gelous Spa. I booked an appointment for microneedling/massage and was attended to by Helena. I will start off by suggesting you consider Gelous Spa if other experiences have been less than satisfactory. The location: the spa is located in a residential neighborhood in central Calgary but do not let this deter you from booking an appointment. The atmosphere: I was hesitant at first but there is nothing to worry about. Her spa is clean, professional and welcoming. The spa is cleaner than other wellness clinics I've been to despite being a home-based service. Upon entry the spa is warm, candlelit and oozes relaxation. Helena maintains high standards of hygiene throughout the entire process - you will not need to worry at all. The massage: I had my first (ever) massage at Gelous Spa and there are no complaints here. It was relaxing and I loved the atmosphere. The microneedling: Helena took very good care of my skin. Prior to any facial service, I get anxious as I have sensitive, acne prone skin that is thinner than most. As a result, my skin can respond terribly if treated roughly. I received microneedling to reduce previous (cystic) acne scars. Helena made sure to have a thorough consultation prior to the service addressing my concerns and skin history. She sympathized with me and made sure to account for my thinner, sensitive skin during the process (using a shallower depth across sensitive areas to avoid inducing traumatic injury). I appreciate the care she put into personalizing the treatment for my picky skin. Gelous Spa uses the best microneedling machine you can get in Canada: the eDermastamp. I will emphasize that the machine used will greatly affect your results. Low quality systems may result in undesirable results (skin tearing, scarring, increased hyperpigmentation). The entire process barely stung after she applied the numbing cream. Helena is very skilled and the treatment went great. At the end of the treatment, she advised me on post-treatment skincare and even provided a home care kit for the first few days. Overall, I am amazed by my experience at Gelous Spa. I fully intend on returning to complete the rest of my microneedling treatments. I highly recommend you (especially those with sensitive skin) visit Helena - you will be in good hands!

Helena was great! I went for a massage & it was excellent! Helena really took the time to listen, used the perfect intensity & hit all the spots I needed worked on. I felt amazing afterwards & it prepared my body for a great osteopath adjustment the next day. The space is beautiful, clean & has good energy. I will definitely go back! :)

After struggling along for months trying to get rid of my acne. I discovered Gelous spa. What a good breakthrough that was. I learned so much about my skin and she was super knowledgeable about my type of acne and was able to help me a lot through my acne journey and recommend good products to use for my skin.

Helena is phenomenal. She is a warm person, provides a very inviting and relaxing atmosphere, and gave me honestly the best massage that I’ve had. Hot stones, hot towels and oils were incorporated and I chose to add the infrared wrap as well which I loved so much. I will be recommending her from now on and will be rebooking very soon.

Helena is amazing! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a thorough and caring massage therapist. She incorporates bamboo, hot stones, and cupping into her massages - something I had never experience all together before, but it was very effective on my tense muscles. Helena also recommended the Perfect Derma Peel for my skin concerns and the results are stunning! She always takes the time to listen to my concerns and recommends products and services that are best for my skin type. She doesn’t recommend any unnecessary things - which I appreciate. She also gave me a ton of samples to try before I committed to any full sized products. If you’re looking for a great spa, definitely book with Helena!
