About Calgary Climbing Centre Rocky Mountain
We are now offering scheduled lead checks, which will help us offer a more positive, less stressful check environment. These checks are 30 minutes in length and available during a 2 hour window, 3 days a week. These are perfect for anyone who needs a little coaching or a little more time.
You must have completed your Top rope belay checks in advance.
Please remember that the belay check is not a lesson; you are expected to prove competence in all assessment areas. During a scheduled check our staff will be either a certified instructor, and will be happy to coach you and your partner to improve your skills, but not learn new skills.
This service is not available during an unscheduled check.

I would recommend creating a package deal which would include full rentals for families. I believe this would create some simplicity for beginner families and an overall better / faster experience at the till as I had to pay twice once for shoes and entrance fee and the second was for the harnesses. Not a huge deal, just feed back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Started out with a summer camp for our six year old. Now we sign up for the monthly kids club. Better value than signing up for an hour. Staff are very attentive, and the lattes are pretty good too! This is our six year old's favourite activity right now!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been going to Rocky for over two years. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. The facility itself has a large indoor bouldering wall and both a stunning top rope/ lead climbing feature in the center of the facility that extend to the second floor. The second floor includes a few smaller top rope walls, a work out area, kids climbing area and access to outdoor wall. I really like coming early in the morning because it is not crowed. I would definitely recommend Rocky.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We discovered this place as a family this Spring. It's incredible and all of our Little Ones (6 of em from 7 -14) can find joy and excitement here.
So much so we signed up for some classes.
My wife and I alternate having a workout when we can as well.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
The ONLY thing I would suggest changing is cleaning up change rooms/shower. As a busy family we shower here often post workout (adults). Quite a dirty shower and unclean. Drain backed up today with hair and left a bad feel for a place we have come to cherish.
Other than that- top marks from us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited here on my road trip for a break and to get my energy out. Was incredible, lots of bouldering, top roping, lead routes. Also has a speed wall so you can compare your time against those Olympians ?
They also serve drinks and food and have a small workout area as well!
Would absolutely come back if I was in Calgary/Canmore area again!

Either way the employees at this location are very informative and eager to help out. Keep up the great work!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Top of the line centre thatvis open year round for all levels climbers! This Centre blows away the U of C climbing wall! It is massive and well tought out here.
Did you know that this place is popular for kid's Birthday parties? The kids get to climb for an hour and then eat their cake and have a celebration in a private party room for about 45 minutes. The staff are so accommodating to the kids too.
There is a surprising amount of parking here too so no worries once you make your way through the winding road to get here.
