Calgary Actors' Studio offers thorough training (from beginner to advanced) in a grounded and friendly environment where any interested student can access the best in contemporary training, and all available without an audition. Every student is valued; every student is respected.
Maximum class size is 16 students (except under extraordinary circumstances)
From younger teens just wanting a fun and safe introduction to the world of acting, to older teens considering a career; from adults wanting to explore and have some fun, to those seriously contemplating community theatre or the profession, our gentle step-by-step approach in our acting classes is a perfect blend of current and established acting theory and practice - born of our own conservatory training - tempered with plenty of real-world professional experience.
Beginning students play their way to a deep, instinctive understanding of the basics, while more experienced students are guided to expand upon what they know... to reach for the stars - however high they want to aim.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took a class with this company as I am a very shy person and believed this would bring out my confidence! I have challenges expressing in large groups yet was still willing to put myself out there. I thought this would be a great way to rid me of my social anxiety. I just felt his attitude towards was not nurturing to my personal development and I left feeling like I had no confidence this why I left this review as I do not want other people to feel this way. I believe shy could be a character in a script and I was put down because of it. I do not recommend this for you or your children unless you want them to feel the same way I did. Not impressed at all its too bad cause I will not let him crush my soul.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My kids have been to multiple SummerACT sessions and have always had a wonderful time. The coaches are professionals in theatre arts so you’re getting real training in a fun environment. The performances are so entertaining, it’s amazing what they can do with these kids in just a week or two! I would highly recommend this program for anyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took Dan's adult beginner class during COVID lockdowns over Zoom. He made it work! (actually it was very convenient for me not to have to go down to the studio every week). I really enjoyed the class and I now have a deeper appreciation for the creative process that actor's go through when studying for a scene. I highly recommend this class!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took my first class with Dan when I was 13. Since then I've taken the Fall/Winter Teen Intro, Teen Studio and SummerAct Two Week Play from 2013-2016.
Daniel has been integral in my development as a young artist; the foundations of acting that he taught me when I was a teenager I still continue to use today. Daniel cares deeply about each of his students, and creates a comfortable, fun and professional work environment.
We worked on a short film titled "Burned" in 2016, he also continues to help me prep for auditions as I work as an actor in Vancouver. I'd recommend his classes to anyone at any level!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am not sure what the two reviewers giving low rating to Calgary Actors' Studio are talking about, our kids have attended their summer camps for quite a few years, they absolutely love it and look forward to returning each summer. This year they asked us to enroll them in the two week camp (as opposed to the one week shorter version) as they were so impressed with the productions that camp put together last year, quite astounding, hard to believe they could achieve so much in such short time. Daniel (director) is supportive, encouraging and just a wonderful acting coach, the kids have never ever had a bad experience while working with him or his team. When I read the reviews I found them so misleading and unfair, I just had to write this review to set things straight. We originally sent our kids to Actors' Studio as our kid's school (a top rated school in Alberta) recommended him for students interested in the school's drama program.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recently completed the Intermediate Acting class with Dan at Calgary Studio and I can’t say enough great things about my experience! From my first email the customer service was speedy and clear. There was such value in this class, I also laughed a ton and made new friends. We even had a final performance with an audience of family and friends, so important to actually get that on stage experience.
If your considering an acting class with talented the professionals at this studio then do it!! I’m looking forward to the next class in the fall - thank you Dan!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My experience with Calgary Actors’ Studio started in 2018 when my 10-year-old did the SummerACT program. It was an amazing experience for him! This is not a typical summer camp where university students lead the kids; this program is led by professional actors and performers who also happen to be fun and engaging with the kids. And boy did it show! In the course of a week, they put together a play that had more in common with professional theatre performances than the usual hokey kids’ plays you’d see at school. It looked like such fun that I wanted to try it too, so I joined the adult evening program (and have now completed three sessions and intend to keep going). I have not been disappointed. Dan does an incredible job of building our understanding of the layers of thinking and skill that go into acting. Through carefully structured exercises, he grows our capabilities and confidence in a supportive and fun way. While I can’t compare to other acting programs, I have a hard time imagining that you could find a better one for you or your kids. Thanks Dan and Calgary Actors’ Studio - you’ve made a real impact on my life!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My experience with Calgary Actors' Studio has been incredible. Dan's classes are one of the first classes I ever took in Calgary. I've taken almost all his adult classes except one before he helped me get accepted to 2 big acting conservatories in Canada. The classes have always been fun and constantly challenging and pushing me to grow more as a person. He works really hard and cares a lot for each of his students.
If you're planning to pursue acting seriously, I highly recommend having a passionate mentor like Dan alongside your journey.
