The owner has definitely changed his attitude towards customers over the years...this is definitely not the store that it once was.. too bad!!! I will NEVER do business here again!!! Worked out to my advantage however because I found superior quality and better pricing as another reviewer posted lower down on St Hubert. Your loss CM Textiles! Keep up the good work!

I did receive a great service from two of the sales representatives in the store, very helpful. At the cash the owner was very polite as well. I don't see why the negative reviews below here, maybe it was a different experience for them. Also, the store is clean and has a huge selection of textiles, I even found a blackout cloth double the standard width (108") which is rather rare to find. Easy and great experience, I guess the reviewer below had something rather personal to complain on?

An unpleasant experience in all respects. I was overcharged and under-serviced, and will have to spend more money to correct their errors. Look elsewhere. Added: Peter: In response to your words below, my designer did not think that you properly serviced, nor did the 3 companies I consulted with to correct the mistake you made with my blinds. While your public response was pleasantly written, your personal responses to me were not.

I decided to get myself a gift and make my own ripplefold curtains for my living room after years of cheap Ikea curtains. I have been working in fashion for 20 years and know how to sew garments but curtains not so much. I went there because they’re considered the best store for decor fabrics, received good advices for the choice of fabrics to match what I was looking for. But as for the the actual sewing and installation of the hardware, I suggest that you make good research beforehand or that you work with an interior designer or professional seamstress with experience in the matter.

Today I went with my mom looking for some fabric. The lady who helped us offered us an extremely poor service. Every time my mom thanked her she didn’t answer she just looked annoyed and bored with us. Then, when we were about to cut the fabric we were showing her concern about one of the fabric’s price. We weren’t sure if we wanted the fabric, but I thought to myself I’ll see the price at the cash register and decide then. See what I didn’t know is that once you cut a fabric you’re not allowed to return it. The reason why I didn’t know this is that from my country of origin we are allowed to return and exchange fabrics from different stores. The second reason why I didn’t know this is that the employee did not bother to explain this to us, even though we were showing her uncertainty about wanting the fabric. Once we were at the cash register, we thought the the price was a bit higher than we expected and told the cashier politely we don’t want one of the fabrics. Then, out of nowhere a man I’ve never seen before started screaming at us telling us once the fabric is cut you have to pay. I felt unsafe, threatened, and humiliated when he yelled, so I said no need to yell I’ll pay. That’s when my mom stopped me and said no! She said, “we didn’t know that store policy and that this is no way to talk to and treat a client.” We later found out that the man who screamed at us was the store supervisor!!! A store supervisor has the duty to treat clients respectfully and should have the experience to deal with difficult situations. In our case we weren’t a difficult situation, if he had explained politely what the store policy was we would’ve payed and told them politely to next time explain that to all clients. We left the store with the intention of never going back again.

Two stars are for the person who helped me pick out fabrics as I was new to the store and they were helpful. Unfortunately, when I arrived home I saw that I was charged for two extra items that I did not buy. Sketchy and sloppy on their part so be careful when shopping here and be sure to check your bill at the register before purchase. However, I would recommend going to another fabric store on the same street instead.
