I love how business works! I understand the challenges business ownership brings and I love working with business owners who need a trusted business advisor to help them face those challenges.
Professionally, I am a member of both the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta (CPA of Alberta) and Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA of Canada), and am also a proud Alumnus of the University of Manitoba.
A little history
I’ve not always been a solopreneur. I started my career as a traditional accountant working my way to partner with a local firm, but my desire to help business owners, at a higher level, called me to become a Business Advisor.
I started BusinessWORKS Chartered Accountants, where, over the last 12 years, I have earned two awards related to my advisory work, including; First Place – 2005 – Public Accounting Marketing Awards of Excellence from Canada’s leading accounting publication, The Bottom Line, and Greatest Client Experience in 2012 from Thriving Firm. However, I am most proud of my Clients’ successes and the lasting relationships that have developed through my work.
Part-Time CFO
My business is no longer just about tax stuff or debits and credits! In fact, my clients refer to me as their “Part-Time CFO”! Really, I’m their Business Advisor, and often their sounding board, which is fine by me as I love talking about business!
Father, Husband, Sports Fan
Outside the office, family comes first including wife Nicky, son Spencer and Dexter (the Dog). Saskatchewan Roughriders are second (absolutely no appointments when the games are on – period!) and hockey a close third (playing, watching and “Hot Stoving” with Spencer).
