I have just learned that this facility is even not part of the Medicine Hat & District childcare association, whish is not really surprising for me now as My daughter attended that daycare for mor than a year. It took her 4 months to adjust. I was ultimately disappointed by their way to deal with kids. Rules and policies are more important than the child developpement. They keep changing rooms for kids and they keep changing the staff to the point that the kid is so confused and never adjust. In more than 7 months (winter time) the kids are kept indoor pretending that they have a gym space which is huge but they use only a little corner of it so the kids will be suppervised by one teacher. They took them there only 30 min. Not sure even if they take them outside in summer as my kid is not always dirty. Once my child 2.5 years old arrived few minutes after 10 am and because we did not tell them that she will be late she was kicked out and and a toy was taken from her hands while she already started playing with her peers. My child was really chocked and cried the whole morning, when I talked to the director she told me that she was not expected as they did not have enough staff....!!! Sounds like it is like an aircraft company where they overbook the flight expecting that somebody would be late!!!! I actually met some moms who had bad experience too and took their kids to other Daycare! I omitted a lots of other details, but overall if you have any other choice ovoid this facility!!

This looks to me more like a children’s mill than a daycare. I had a bad experience and took my daughter to another daycare even though I had left 6 more paid weeks. They don’t hire enough teachers for all registered children, this practice is called overbooking, so every day, any reason is good to send the child back home, it’s very stressful to never know if your child will be accepted or not while you have to drop her and go to work. In the middle of the day, every reason is good to call you to take back your child and keep harassing you to come pick her up in the same hour, this way they can hire some teachers only part time and save more bucks (anticipating the fact that they will send back home some children in the afternoon). When you don't take your child to daycare, they call (after 10am, just to be sure you will not try to drop her after their call) and try by all means to make you say that she is sick so they have an excuse to not accept her for the next days. Also even if the school is big, children are always in a small room, worse, each time I went there in the middle of the day, I always found them confined in a small corner of the room, and this gives the children barely 2 sq ft of space each. In winter they never see daylight. This β€œdaycare” will never do more than what is strictly mandatory by the law and will always find a way to apply every penalty or constraint they made you sign in the contract. They never care about children’s fulfillment. Last time I was there, because it was few minutes after 10am, they took a toy from my daughter’s hand, put her out of class like garbage, she was shocked because she didn’t understood why, this was the last time they saw us.

This was my daughters 3rd nursery in 4 years and has been by far the best. The support she has received has been fantastic. They arranged speech, occupational and physio therapy to help her development. Educationally she has progressed as well, knows her numbers and is well on her way to start writing. All in all very happy with her time at BBPC.

My family spent 8 years with this centre and I will forever recommend it to everyone. My son started at the age of 2. He had some speech difficulties, however was not severe enough for an aide. The staff at building blocks went above and beyond their job titles and worked on my sons speech with him. At 10 years old now, he often says he wants to go and visit. My daughter started kindergarten this year, so our need for child care is gone. She started attending BBPS just after she turned 2. We had started potty training her at home, and BBPS supported us 100%. Though my daughter is far advanced in her development for most areas, she really struggles with separation and anxiety. BBPS was on our side the whole way, suggesting ideas to help, implementing our ideas, and just being there for compassion and comfort. Both children gained so many preK skills early on, and are further advanced socially because of attending BBPS. I'll miss the staff immensely! Good luck ladies!

I/we are been nothing but very satisfied with the connections and learning through the teachers. My grandsons have experienced so much growth and positive behavior. The teachers kindness is beyond remarkable. They show so much love and support in connecting with the young children. I highly recommend this daycare and hope they are here for years to come. Much Love....

Building blocks is a lovely daycare! When my daughter first started the teachers did a great job making us both feel comfortable. It wasn’t long before my daughter was really excited each morning to go to school. The staff are always smiling . Would highly recommend building blocks ?

Our girls enjoy their time at Building Blocks. The staff are so kind and caring, the facility has so many activities/toys/crafts to keep them entertained, and we love how much time they spend outside. Quality care, professional staff and reliable hours. A great place!

Do NOT send your child here if they have a disability. My child was treated poorly. My child was abused by other children and then my child was the one moved to a younger age classroom? They also ignore emails. Very unprofessional. No communication once so ever.
