★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can't say enough wonderful things about Browns Books. My father and I have come here for 20 years. Roger is so knowledgeable and friendly. Not many used book stores remain these days, which is so tragic. If you are a lover of books make sure to make a stop in at Browns Books when you are in Burnaby, I promise it will be worth the visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really love this book store. I've been in many times, but this particular interaction springs to mind. I came in looking for very specific books for a Christmas present for my hard-to-shop-for father. Unfortunately Brown's Books didn't have the editions I was looking for, but Richard did absolutely everything he could to help me track them down elsewhere (including offering to call me a cab because I had a leg brace on at the time). So happy this store is in the neighbourhood!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great spot for used books and friendly staff. A little disorganized but it's mostly from overflow stock (lots of good books to choose from) and makes for a charming experience hunting books. Go check them out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I tried buying a book from AbeBooks that Brown's Books was selling, and the communication was TERRIBLE! As in, I reached out to them about 5 different times from March 2 (which was already a week AFTER my book was due to arrive to me) until April 27th. They responded one time, on March 10 saying that they finally found the book and would send me a tracking number.
No tracking number was sent. No more communication, despite me reaching out numerous times. And in the end, no book. I had to finally ask for a refund from PayPal because AbeBooks could not issue it.
Absolutely terrible experience. So frustrating. One star is FAR too generous.
