Its Earth Day today and to do my part in helping clean up, I collected a grocery bag of trash and a deflated old basketball. I love this peaceful park and I am so happy to have it in my neighborhood. I have watched it change these past couple of years, it's a nice spot. Thankful for the late Brissenden's in donating their lot of land to be turned into a park. ?

A nice small park on Rosebery avenue. This used to be two private lots which are 2519 and 2539 Rosebury. The property was owned by Pearley and Noreen Brissenden who bequeathed it to the district of West Vancouver. In the agreement they made with the district, the land is to be used and maintained by the district for public park purposes. When the owners died, the district of West Van became trustees of this land. The district never followed through with their agreement to create a park here. Recently, there has been some efforts to build a new path through the park connecting rosebery to the overpass over highway 1. The district wants to sell the southern portion of the property. This is a disrespect to the previous owners. This is a small park with some large trees and grassy areas. It would be a good location for a neighbourhood park with a lawn, a playground and maybe a tennis court. The nearest bus stop is 4 min walk away and there is some parking along Rosebery avenue. District of West Vancouver should honour their agreement and keep this a park.
