I had such a positive experience with my counsellor, Susan. I felt heard, respected and understood. I have recommend Bridge Counseling to many of my friends because I was very happy with my experience there.

I saw Milton once and received only entry level counselling. Would not go back. My partner and I saw Dallas twice and I returned with great caution as he had become enraged in one of the previous sessions. I challenged him in the third session on his obvious bias; he reverted to denial. I challenged him on not having done his own healing work before counselling others and to that he went into a rage and discontinued the session. I strongly discourage anyone seeing either one of these toxic "counselors"

I see they are proliferating their influence through social media , so I figured I'd share my less than stellar experience. I'd seen Susan for months, I was sitting on the edge of being suicidal for much of that time, mostly due to mistreatment at home. She basically gaslit me into staying and coping with an incredibly abusive parent. Her handling was incredibly irresponsible, and she seemed set that it was okay to have me suffer if it kept the family unit together. She had a strong bias towards very very traditional values, and that I would somehow "fix" my abuser. I had never felt so worthless in my life. Now several years on I've escaped and gone on to live a life where I don't live in terror and no one tells me I should put up with abuse. I'm sad I wasted my time on unhealthy counselling.

I went to Bridge City Counselling for myself and with my husband. Personally, at first I was not sure what to say or how it would be perceived. Yet Dallas was always kind, patient and welcoming to my openness and feelings. I never felt judged or ridiculed, even when sometimes I had to be told the hard truth, it was always done with kindness and with tools to adjust my thinking if I wanted to change. As a couple we always felt such a sense of trust, patience and respect from both Dallas & Susan for our marriage and for our different personalities. I very much appreciated having both Dallas & Susan counselling us for the couple's portion as it gave us the ability to see things from different points of view. Many years later and my husband and I are still happily married as we continue to use the tools we were given from Bridge City Counselling. We have and will continue to recommend them to anyone we can.

I really enjoyed working with one of your counsellor's Sarah Masud. Someone recommended her to me and they were not wrong. She was very helpful, honest, and professional. The session was beyond my expectations. She didn't rush me and I took more of her time. My past experiences with counselling were horrible. Thanks Bridge counselling. Will definitely recommend your services.

I have done a lot of counselling in the past. This is the first time that I have felt fully supported, heard and understood. I am grateful for my experience here.

Brian was our counsellor. He spent time asking about private medical information that was not germane at all to our conversation/the counselling session, he started talking about his own book, bringing up stories about other clients (not in detail, but to suggest somehow their relevance to our situation???), he dwelt a lot on clinical definitions of mental health, and little of it really to our benefit. Maybe he's good in some situations, but would not recommend him personally. Not as empathetic as much as all over the place.

I was a client under my actual first name. - pretty bad experience, would not recommend trying the counselors here. I feel much worse after going for months. Edit: it's hard to give names/details, but immensely helpful. Here I am getting brave. Avoid Brian McDonald, especially if you are a woman or don't want to use toxic masculinity as an excuse for every poor behaviour in your life (instead of working to be better). Avoid for couples. Avoid if you have trauma (or have been abused) due to a spouses addiction. Avoid if you want a counselor who hears you. Avoid if you don't want to constantly defend yourself, your feelings/emotions. Avoid if you want progress beyond generic/basic things, and if you want to stay anywhere near the topic you asked to talk about.
