I have never lived in a city where the busing system is so convoluted, and unproductive for a city this size. The routes change without notice, and sometimes, buses just don't show up. The ticket window has hours that aren't helpful to anyone who works before 8am, after 5pm or wants to buy a ticket on their lunch break. And if the bus ticket machine happens to be down, which it often is, there is no where else in the city to buy bus tickets. SOL.

Unfortunately WORST public transit system I've ever had to use out of all the towns and cities I've been in ... I just moved to Brantford and the bus system is a massive step down from the city I moved from (Brantford transit feels about 20-25 years behind every other transit system, website needs to be made more user-friendly and updated with better more accurate info for customers) .... 1. Bus terminal (which needs a huge upgrade/renovation/move to new modern terminal) has unhelpful hours to anyone who has a weekly day job (open 8am- 1pm, reopens 2pm till 5pm Mon-Fri, 8 am- noon on Saturdays, and closed Sundays). It's also the only place I know where bus passes can be purchased so very un-user friendly! Yes they have kiosk inside to reload the monthly pass card... but you cannot purchase one from it or a 10 or 20 ride B-card if terminal booth is closed). Also kiosks don't always work so you have no way of reloading your card after hours. You are stuck scrambling for cash fare then. Very little seating available inside the miniscule terminal, there is more outside along the platform, so if you have large crowd of riders trying to stay warm or cool in seasonal weather there's no space inside for them. 2. Transfers don't give enough time (1 hour), it should be at least 90 minutes like other towns/cities do. Your bus comes in late and the connecting bus is gone, your transfer is now useless with the wait time for the next one. 3. Some routes only go either clockwise or counter clockwise in single direction so if you accidentally get on wrong one it's a long way to get to where you need to go. Also makes for getting from one point to another time consuming if where you want to go is in opposite direction of route. 4. Nowhere on the route pamphlets (or on the very outdated website) does it state that buses do in fact run after 9pm on weeknights .. no mention of turn over to night bus service (haven't lived in town that still used night bus service in at least 2 decades). For people new to Brantford or rarely use it, this can make it look like there's no service at all after 9pm. A simple note on time table stating change over to night bus service times and routes and showing which night bus route takes over for route you need would make it less confusing 5. Sunday service is not good, but I guess it's better than no buses at all. 8am to just before 8pm and one bus per hour if you're lucky, depending on routes. Don't plan on doing too much on Sundays then 6. The "next bus number" codes used at bus stops needs to be updated so deaf or hearing impaired riders can get info as well. It's strictly automated voice which can be drown out by traffic noise on some roads for those who actually can hear. It should be done by text message to be more accommodating. Another thing is the information is never correct on holidays. Right now on Labour Day it keeps telling me they run every half hour when in fact that is a lie. The system needs a serious update to be accurate so those who depend on knowing whether buses are even running at all on a holiday or not are properly informed! (FYI the website "next bus" does the same thing). Whole Ssystem really is sadly useless trash. 7. As of Sept 2021, still no public access to the washrooms inside the terminal. If you gotta go, the nearest accessible washroom is most likely at the library which is a couple of blocks away 8. Also discovered that they treat a civic holiday like it's a statutory holiday. They start at 8am instead of 6am and run one per hour until 8pm! So anyone who doesn't get the civic holiday off and needing a bus in the morning needs to call their taxi well in advance since they too will be scarce. Since I'm unable to drive I have no choice but to put up with the transit system here .... but I'm hopeful the city will improve and update it soon if enough people complain about how bad it really is

The city transit is a joke. Hire more staff, and learn to communicate among your employers. I'm honestly surprised no one has went on strike yet with how bad the system is!

Thanks for making me late once again. I have been standing at the terminal for 40 minutes after getting off a late bus. Now I am waiting for another very late bus and my transfer is going to expire soon.

the all inclusive worst public transport experience: late 100% of the time, rude and ignorant drivers, overpriced, bad routes and timing. when a bus happens to be late (every other day) you have to wait at least 30 minutes at the terminal, and many times your transfer will void and leave you stranded. brantford transit: the best public transportation for people who LOVE to walk!

My wife and myself took the 4C bus from the Lynden Park Mall around 3pm Friday May 20. The lady bus driver appeared to be very unfriendly never smiled or said hello when we said hello as we got on the bus. She just completely ignored us. It was hot and no ventilation and she just kept letting people on and cramming us in like sardines. Is there no capacity limit? We were having a hard time breathing with the crowd of people that kept getting larger, the heat and the masks. Brantford transit has to have a capacity limit for the buses just like dining halls and other public places. Mindlessly piling people into a bus like sardines is reckless and dangerous.

Let’s be honest here. The bus service in this city is garbage. Buses not on time. Drivers that drive too fast. I’ve been on carnival rides that are smoother than these buses. Drivers drive right past your stop in the middle of the day with you standing at the stop. I’ve even had the bus drive away before I’ve fully stepped out of the bus not too long ago. The ridiculous day to night changeover where the buses don’t run for one hour. Buses that leave the terminal before other buses arrive so you miss your transfer. I could on and on. The city needs to start over with Brantford transit. New management, drivers, and buses.
