About Bowness Community Association

In September 2013 Community Action for Early Childhood opened Bowness's first Little Free Library, thanks to the woodworking talents of Tom Born and the willingness of library stewards Ken and Madeleine Calvert. Since then, a partnership with Bowness High has produced 13 more little free libraries. These libraries were given to community residents and organizations who offered their front lawns up for the cause!

We're here for the hockey. My 6 year old is part of the Bruins 3 on 3 spring program. Clean ice. Clean dressing rooms. Great facility and programs. Highly recommend for any parents looking for sharpening their kids skills or playing with the organization.

Went to arena to watch a hockey game. The overhead heater worked which made me happy. The seats are bench style with no backs. The washrooms were clean.

I went there to take my son to the indoor playground that they set up in the main hall. The place is clean and big. The staff were helpful. They have various programs and activities. I would recommend anyone to visit. Great experience.

So many awesome things for my family and I. Appreciate all the association does to keep us engaged and happy community members. Especially love the weekly kids programming and family friendly events.

Completely outdated arena. Calgary has a ton better arenas I don't even know why this would be used for midget level female hockey. There was no concession, or if there was it wasn't open. The warm viewing area was not easily accessible and you couldn't see very well.

Let's talk ice rinks. Obviously this one's quite old, you can tell just by the dressing room size. Water bottle locations on the bench are nothing to be desired. The ice surface is decent. But the water tastes like it's being pulled directly from the bow River. Don't expect to enjoy a nice shower after the game either. I'm giving it a low score over the facility faults and not the staff.
