Early in 2021 I decided to look at rural properties NW of Toronto to build or buy a small country getaway house. I knew that Bostok Hathaway had sold my neighbour's house in Toronto and she had nothing but good words for Anita Bostok and Norman Hathaway and their professionalism and expertise all the way through the process. I had a few quick chats with Norman during that time, and thought of him and Anita right away last spring when I knew I wanted enter the market. One listing in a small village setting west of Orangeville quickly stood out for me. We drove out and spent about two hours in and around the house and the village , and I knew then that I wanted to make an offer. Norman and Anita got to work and were in touch with me often several times a day as we put in an offer, responded to the owners' comeback offer, set up the home inspection, considered local zoning issues and so on. The process literally unfolded without a single snag. I'd expected some anxiety, of course, dealing with such a volatile market, but the calm assurance and impressive experience of Norman and Anita kept me on an even keel. I could tell I was in good hands. I was really impressed with their choice of home inspector, who included me step-by-step as he went through the house. His detailed report made it clear to me I did not want to miss out on this great property with no red-flag issues. Best of all, Bostok Hathaway got me a deal significantly under the asking price, in a market that has been subject to fierce bidding wars. I feel so grateful to Norman and Anita. I love the house, and they were a total pleasure to work with.
