Bobby's Corner & Shell Gas Station

Bobby’s Corner, the home of Famous Bobby’s Sport Shop located in Vermilion Bay, Ontario, right on the Trans Canada Highway and within walking distance to or from the shores of Famous Eagle Lake.

Bobby’s Corner was founded in 1964 by twin brothers, Bobby and Allan Dudar who were icons for decades and still are to this day. Many customers walked in through the doors at Bobby’s not knowing who or what they were getting themselves into. Bobby and Allan had a reputation for making a trip into the Sport Shop quite memorable for most if not all. They were great salesmen who made a connection with just about each and every customer that came in. Whether they shared stories with the customers about fishing or heckled them to no end with jokes and friendly jabs, it seemed everyone came back for a little more and wanted that interaction with the Dudar boys. Summer days turned into weeks and weeks into years and soon they had their following of outstanding and appreciative customers coming year after year.

Bobby’s Corner and Sport Sport wouldn’t be here today if it were not for the legendary Allan and Bobby Dudar.

For over 55 years Bobby’s Sport Shop has been in operation and is open to all travelers, vacationers and local traffic year round. Our Shell gas station and convenience store is open year round from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the Sport Shop runs the same hour in the Spring & Summer, however Bobby’s Sport Shop is year round as well, just ask the friendly staff for any assistance needed.

Be sure to stop in as you are travelling HWY 17 and check out all we have to offer. Whether you're just running in from home, driving by, up here fishing/hunting, camping at Blue Lake Provincial Park or on a business trip, whatever the case, we would love to see you. If you haven’t been here perhaps the most Iconic way to recognize us while you are passing by is to look for the large Inukshuk structure on our parking lot.

Inukshuk or Inuksuk (pronounced IN-OOK-SHOOK) is a structure of rough stones stacked in the form of a human figure. Traditionally, they were used by the Inuit and in the north as directional markers or to say “someone was here” or “you’re on the right path” and they are unique to the Canadian Arctic. An Inukshuk in the shape of a person signifies safety, hope and friendship that transcends borders to reach people all over the world.

Located along the Trans Canada Highway, Bobby’s Inukshuk named “Pathfinder” welcomes all travellers.
