The term blue collar was first used in reference to trade jobs in 1924, in an Alden, Iowa newspaper. The phrase stems from the image of manual workers wearing blue denim or chambray shirts as part of their uniforms. Industrial and manual workers often wear durable canvas or cotton clothing that may be soiled during the course of their work. Navy and light blue colors conceal potential dirt or grease on the worker's clothing, helping him or her to appear cleaner. For the same reason, blue is a popular color for coveralls, which protect workers' clothing. Historically the popularity of the color blue among manual laborers contrasts with the popularity of white dress shirts worn by people in office environments.

β β β β β Appts are only 30 minutes (other shops are 60). This leaves apparently no wiggle room. At their request, I agreed to change my appt time the night before. I was late and they cancelled my appt. Unreasonable but fine. However, I did not enjoy their condescending comments and negativity towards me. I have been there twice before for my haircut and beard trim and would have continued. They are seemingly too cool for school. I found a new place (yes, 60 minute appts). I will no longer patronize Bluecorer.

β β β β β Moving here from out of Province, one of my primary concerns was finding a new Barber (vain, I know.) These concerns were quickly alleviated by Jason, who at first strike clearly knew how to do a nice fade, and was great to chat with. Love the vibe of this place, can't wait for my next cut.

β β β β β Great job trimming and shaping my overgrown fuzzy looking beard. All the barbers there were pretty cool including mine and the place had a chill vibe. Bonus were a couple of cute and friendly little dogs.

β β β β β As always, my son and I received excellent service. He had an appointment beforehand but I didn't and they managed to fit me in on short notice during our drive to the city. Before leaving we both bought a ball cap and he just loves his because it looks so cool and his school buddies like it too. Great atmosphere and friendly very professional personnel. We are repeat customers and won't go anywhere else.

β β β β β I am personally not a customer here, THAT BEING SAID my very picky boyfriend goes here and will only go here. There are ACTUAL licensed barbers with amazing skill. I go to the appointments with him most of the time (as we travel from another city just to come here) and I have yet to see someone leave there disappointed with their service. To top it off they have the most adorable little pug named Romeo that likes to hang out and supervise the patrons. The atmosphere is unique and chill. They are licensed to serve alcohol so you can enjoy a beverage or two while waiting if thatβs your thing. All around itβs an awesome place and my other half always comes out looking *chefs kiss* impeccable.
