Ryan and Paul were honest, professional, and paid attention to all of the small details throughout our full kitchen renovation. They also did a great job re-tiling the floors in several other rooms, installing additional cabinetry, utility sink, bathroom vanity, patching and painting. We hired Blackwell Renovations in the Spring of 2019 to redo our master bathroom. There are two main things that sets this company apart: their attention to detail and the fact that they want to do things the correct way. We had a few unexpected surprises, like with any reno - a leaking window, a rotten subfloor that led into the master bedroom, as well as crooked bathroom floor. During each step in the process, Ryan explained and gave us options to fix each issue. He was honest and up front. For example, when they found evidence of a leaking window in the wall (which was not originally in the plans to replace), they climbed up a ladder with a hose from the outside to find the leak before proposing a solution. For the rotten subfloor, it extended to our master bathroom so Ryan had to find matching hardwood. This proved difficult since they don't make it anymore, but he managed to find it successfully in a warehouse in Montreal. He installed it himself and it looks fantastic. You can't even tell part of it was redone. As for Paul who did the tiling work - incredible. It truly is a work of art. He plans everything in advance and every tile is placed strategically. It's beautiful work. By the way, I was also very impressed with Ryan's initial visit and he picked up on things that other contractors didn't. He made a few assumptions as to the root cause of certain problems, and he turned out to be correct! I had a good initial impression and I'm glad I went with my gut when choosing this contractor. I'm a picky client (I know this) but Ryan and Paul live up to my standards because they're picky themselves. Hiring them was such a breeze and I never had to worry about cleanliness or the quality of their work. You don't need to feel like you have to watch them (like you would other contractors). All in all, we wouldn't hesitate to hire them again in the future (and we will). We are so happy with our bathroom and it's now the nicest room in our house! Highly recommended.

Thanks to RWB Renovations we now have an incredible bathroom. Ryan and his team were detailed oriented, helpful and professional throughout our entire experience working with them. We live in a very old house, where we wanted to keep the balance between having a fabulous new bathroom while maintaining some of the character and charm of an old house. Ryan and his team appreciated and supported this direction throughout the process. They worked hard every day. The outcome of their work was very high quality. They ensured they were happy with the quality of the product as if it were their own house. They left the house clean at the end of every day. In addition they were just nice to have around. Ryan and his amazing crew at Blackwell Renovations worked on my bathroom, kitchen and stairs. They did a great job!! A++ I love how they pay attention to every detail and point out things I did not even think of that would bring more value to my home. This team definitely goes above and beyond to get the jobs done right. Previously I had people I know help me with tiles installation which was a bad idea since they have started to crack because they were not done right! Ryan redid the tiles much better this time! When we purchased our home in Ottawa, we were so excited, but we were overwhelmed when we realized the amount of work it needed. Our project involved structural repair, new addition, and the finishing of 4 bedrooms with closets, a laundry room, a guest bath, a master bath, and a walk-in closet. We weren’t sure how we were going to manage such a significant renovation alongside our hectic family and work lives. Blackwell Renovation’s team changed all of this for us. Even with our prior renovation experience, we had never experienced such a high level of professionalism and such attentive project management. To say that Blackwell goes above and beyond for their clients is an understatement. The team helped make our neighbours feel comfortable with the major construction project and they even gave them gift cards at Christmas to thank them for their patience! Throughout our renovation, (for the first time in our lives!) we did not have to worry about a thing. The entire process from start to finish was stress-free because the Blackwell team treated our renovation as though it was their own, and it showed. It was evident that the entire team was always thinking about the best way to meet our needs, forecast future problems, and find the most cost-effective solutions - all while ensuring the highest level of craftsmanship. We got the most beautiful custom cabinetry and flawless installation of hardwood and tiles – not a corner out of place. The baseboard and window/door trims are seamless. There truly was no detail left behind. Above all, everyone who came into our home was an absolute pleasure to work with and even had a great senses of humor to boot! We have now finished the first phase of our Renos and there is no one else we would trust to complete phase II. We are clients for life!

Blackwell Renovation built a single-story sideyard addition on to our small urban home in Ottawa in 2020. The flat-roof addition includes a large mudroom and powder room. We were very satisfied with the process and the end-result. Ryan, Paul and their team were meticulous in their work. We requested some changes to the project after it had started, and Ryan was good at communicating the impact on the overall cost prior to proceeding.  We had only a few very minor issues since construction completed last fall - and Ryan has dealt with them immediately to our satisfaction. We have recommended Blackwell Renovations to friends and would not hesitate to use them again for future projects.
