As first time home buyers, my partner and I were not the most well versed in real estate knowledge. It was for sure a fear of ours going into the buying process making a mistake, or choosing the wrong property. From the first time we reached out to Matt he was responsive, and very attentive to finding the right home for US. It became obvious quickly that his priority was ensuring we found our home, even if that meant driving across the city and seeing a new build one day and a 100 year old house the other. He took time to be aware of our comments and find properties that aligned with our values and what we needed out of a home. Once we found our home he was incredibly transparent about the entire process, walking us through each step in a very detailed fashion. Not once did we feel alone, and anything we could possibly think of (silly or not silly) was answered by Matt with the utmost care. Another bonus? Significantly under budget... leaving us so much room to put our own touch on the home. We aren’t planning on selling anytime soon, but if we are... we would go straight back to Black Label no questions asked.

Listen up! I’m giving all the credit to Matt Labas for selling our home in 2020 - at the beginning of the pandemic. It was that same time when every news story was saying “it’s impossible to sell a home right now” and we were starting to second guess the possibility of selling our home. Selling our home was always the plan for 2020 but we were left feeling unsure about the possibility due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, and realtor acquaintances of mine giving me nothing but reports of “doom and gloom” in the real estate industry. I’m so grateful to have met Matt. He was exactly the person we needed to find - honestly, he was a breath of fresh air! Matt carries such positive energy - where many others saw no hope, he saw the perfect opportunity to sell our home. He has this ability to push aside the common rhetoric and see what others don’t see. He once said to me his job is to see potential, and I can tell you that he really is able to look at things from uncommon perspectives and find treasures where other people have looked right passed. Our home sold so quickly, I was almost sad it was over because I was really enjoying working with Matt! He’s professional, AND extremely personable. He’s calm and collected, and a very clear communicator. I jokingly wished I had more houses to sell because it was actually *fun* selling our house with Matt. Only 5 weeks after we listed our house with Matt, we were handing the keys off to the happy new owners. We sold our home for more than we bought it for just 3.5 years prior without doing any major modifications to the place. Matt gave us the confidence to ask much more for our house than other realtors were suggesting and it really paid off! (Remember that thing where his job is to see potential? This is what I’m talking about. He said he had a realtor call him and scoff at our asking price… saying we were asking too much, and Matt calmly told the guy it was a unique property, with nothing else like it on the market… and then we sold it for 99% of asking price within a few weeks!) This is why I was so happy to have Matt on our side selling our home. Matt definitely re-defined “realtor” for me… this isn’t just a guy selling houses… Matt is truly in his element helping people sell their homes and find new ones - a matchmaker for houses and people. I would buy or sell a home with Matt any day - he’s a gem in the real estate world.

My wife and I worked with Matt Labas on our most recent home sale and purchase. Matt is extremely hard working and knowledgeable. We must have seen over 50 houses over a 6 month span and he never once made us feel like we were wasting his time. He was able to give really good advice when it came to the negotiating stage and always made himself available when we needed him, even later into the evenings.
