Biotouch Alberta - Calgary

I enrolled in the Permanent Makeup course at Biotouch Alberta and felt the need to advise others of my experience. I wish that I would have read reviews such as the one I'm leaving prior to investing $4000 in this course. To sum it up, not only is the course not worth the money, you also do not leave with all of the information or experience required to feel confident to begin a career in this field. First off, you're told that your $4000 investment for a 1 week course will also include all the equipment you need to get started. However what we weren't told is that we would have to spend another $1000 to purchase additional product that you absolutely need to start seeing clients. The first day of instruction went well. However there was very little instruction provided on the days to follow. We often had to work on live models with as little as 1 hour of class instruction and a little homework we did outside of the location the night before with no one to properly guide us. This is pretty well how things went for every new service we "learnt". Class was set to start at 10am every morning, and we would show up and be left to chat amongst ourselves until almost lunchtime...which was followed with working on a live model. (Keep in mind you've only had about 1 hour of class time to learn the service you were about to perform and a little practice you did on your own on a few skin sheets the night before). Considering the fact that we are rendering semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing services that's not sufficient, and I'm sure many models would have turned away if they knew. I could have learnt what was taught in this course by buying a $40 book on Amazon and watching a few YouTube videos. To top it all off, the instructors were quite rude to us while we worked on models. They expected you to know exactly every step of the process on the first try without providing us with the information to allow us to do so. I am so disappointed to have wasted $4000 on this, it still bothers me 3 months later. I simply can't recommend this course to anyone.

The owner, Kim Pham, is one of the Calgary's best kept secrets for your skin. Trained in Europe and always up to date with her technology, she has FIXED acne scars for me with a green peel and has kept my skin healthy and young for the last 10 years. (I almost would say I look better now!) I would HIGHLY recommend Kim and her colleagues at BioTouch for facials, progressive skin treatments, and also microblading tattooing (she has done my brows as well!)

I came to BioTouch Alberta for my Skin Revision and Nano Brow Certifications, and I have nothing but positive things to say about my training and Instructor. Quynh was my primary instructor for both courses, she was extremely thorough and very hands on. I came to BioTouch Alberta with NO hair stroke and camouflage experience because hair strokes, feathering and camouflage was never part of my permanent makeup course level 1 curriculum at The Esthetic Institute, and when I discussed this with BioTouch, they were more than accommodating to create a custom Nano Brow Certification course based on my needs. There was a price difference of a few hundred dollars for the customization, but it was MORE THAN WORTH IT because the course was fantastic and I learned so much with hands on training. The Skin Revision was fantastic, it was worth the price and the course structure was everything I expected and more. This course came with the machine, and again I loved the hands on training so much. I highly recommend BioTouch Alberta for all your skin and permanent makeup training, especially the permanent makeup because their FULL permanent makeup curriculum is in depth with all techniques.

I went to Biotouch to get my eyebrows microbladed. Quynh did a fantastic job - she was able to raise my right eyebrow, which always hung a little lower, so it opened up my eyes. I don't look tired and my brows are top notch! I nearly cried when I saw how amazing they looked. Kim also peeped in to ensure the brows were up to her standard. I was given an aftercare package and a great explanation as well as a follow up appointment for touch ups. The place is clean and comfortable, which is hugely important to me. Needless to say, I'll ever go get my brows done anywhere else! Thank you, Ladies! C.

After getting botched microblading myself I scoured the city to find someone that was able to correct not only incorrect colour but wrong shaping for my face and skin tone. I found the ladies at Biotouch Alberta where Quynh corrected it for me. :) Thats when I decided to take a microblading course at another popular Calgary school (being an artist already). That was a few years back now and have done well with the service in my Med-spa. I finally decided to go even further with my career in permanent makeup and decided to go to the best I knew of through my experience, so I enrolled in the course for eyeliner through Bio-touch Alberta with Kim and Quynh. I'm so glad I did because I not only offer the popular service in my Med-spa but it helped me further my knowledge with eyebrows because of Kim's in depth knowledge of skin-colour-theory. I totally recommend this course to others hoping to expand their skill set for their business. No fuss learning that gets right to the point and has you off and running with permanent make-up! Quynh is amazing! I have had my eyebrows, eyeliner (top & bottom) & lips semi permanently tattoed, along with touch ups. Always professional, clean, accommodating, creative, and sweet! So happy with all the work I have received there. If your thinking of giving semi permanent makeup a try, it a fabulous idea and don't look any further! Call them & book!

Experienced my first visit and was a little bit nervous not knowing what to expect. I was relieved from the moment of walking in the door meeting Quynh. I can say you are in very capable and exceptional hands. I had permanent eyeliner application. Every aspect was a five-star experience from professionalism to cleanliness and most importantly skill level and application of the Services I received. I highly recommend Biotouch they are efficient and they commit 100% attention to detail.

I am a student of Kim. Hands on, one to one instruction. Class is maximum of 2 new trainees so you get full guidance all throughout. The studio is neatly set up and a very relaxed environment. I have learned so much on colour theory, safety, and the techniques taught by Kim from her mastery of the skills is a gift to students. Kim is a great trainer and an amazing lady! Hanna is always helpful in finding models. Thank you team Biotouch Alberta!
