β β β β β I had a haircut with Kai (currently an apprentice at the time of this review) and they did an awesome job doing "the big chop". They were very pleasant to talk to (very queer) and they did my hair in a way I've never had before, making it into a great new style I enjoy immensely. I recommend this place for anyone that wants a nice queer space with fair pricing for anyone that comes in.

β β β β β Mariah did a beautiful job with my first femme haircut, they were patient, thorough, and supportive throughout. Client comfort is a high priority for these folks, and they're doing great work.
I'll echo others' words of praise for the charitable donations and sliding scale pricing, it's really lovely to have businesses that feel engaged with their communities.

β β β β β I'm so excited to hear Alyssa is joining such an incredible business focused on community, generosity, inclusion and all around supportive values! Moving to Vancouver last year, it's taken me a while to find a stylist I felt comfortable with and gave me the dream care I was looking for but Alyssa easily fit the bill! She's easy to feel comfortable with and does such an amazing job - looking forward to following her to Big Joy!!

β β β β β I love my new haircut from Kai. I was nervous to ask for layers because I didn't want it to look too feminine but I think it looks very androgynous/masculine so I am happy! The salon itself was nice but I did find it a little overstimulating with the loud music and the various salon smells. Kai was super sweet though and they seemed to understand sensory issues which I appreciated a lot and it made me feel more at ease.

β β β β β Josh did an amazing job on my first ever hair cut! Chopped off almost 30 inches of hair to donate, and ended up with a great haircut that I've been wanting for years. I was honestly super nervous as an AFAB person getting a masculine haircut, but Josh had great communication and genuinely cared about what I wanted. The salon in general has a very open and accepting vibe, can't wait to go back :)
