Bertha Kennedy Catholic Community School - St. Albert

Awful school! Teachers are not caring or helpful; and the principal is the worst person ever, how she got that position is beyond me. The whole atmosphere is so negative, I pitty the poor kids that go here. Their academic ratings are not very good either, all comes down from the horrible principal! I would not send your kids to this school. I only gave 1 star because I had to, they don't even deserve the one star rating!!!!

We moved from Ontario and happened upon this amazing little hidden gem called “BK”. Knowing very little about the school besides it was our designated school we are so very happy to be a part of the BK Community for 6 years already!! The school is very welcoming and has a warm inviting atmosphere with the most friendliest office staff that are always smiling to greet and help you! Our eldest daughter has ASD with sensory needs and we were very satisfied and impressed with the “if one student needs it, most likely 5 or more need it, so we just do it” attitude. The wonderful Staff and Admin are flexible and go above and beyond to to teach and help our 21 Century Learners grow! I can say our experience at BK has been a positive and progressive one. My kids love(d) the Healthy BobKat Room that has a traverse climbing wall, options for heavy work and body movement exercise along with a quiet cozy sensory corner to help students transition from recess or to help with regulation - and all students get to experience this room. That’s amazeballs. Some of the special clubs offered are: garden club where they tend the Bk Garden which is attached to the special Peace Garden. Clearly the students take ownership of taking care of their school. BK staff guides students to make many connections with community and beyond with their Social Justice Projects and Golden Friends along with clubs like Recycling, Plays, running and Junior ATB and more just make BK a great overall school. We especially appreciated the Faith Teaching which is woven into everyday life lessons and how BK welcomes everyone. School Council is very active and advocates for all students and works with admin super well to make the students experience all that much more special with Nourish the BobKat Program, Birthday Book Club, Movie Nights and Family Events (in the past and we can’t wait to get together again soon!) We are blessed to be a part of BK and recommend this school especially if you are looking for a family community feel at this “little” school that has the “biggest” hearts.

I have two daughters at Bertha Kennedy .The staff is friendly and welcoming they make my girls feel comfortable. Great teachers, great atmosphere. A perfect place for our children to grow and learn.

Absolutely love this school! Our kids have attended for the last 5 years, and we would highly recommend BK to anyone. All the teachers and administrative staff have been kind, supportive and friendly. The school provides great opportunities for children and parent engagement, and everyone treats us like family! Having SIGIS OSC inside the school is a bonus! What are you waiting for - join the BK BobKats!!

My kids go to Bertha Kennedy and they LOVE it there. The staff are so amazing and make everyone feel so welcome. The Principal is so approachable and makes everyone feel like apart of the school family.Bk is a small school with a big spirit! Highly recommended

My daughter has attended Bertha Kennedy for 4 years and has had a wonderful experience. The principal is approachable and attentive to parent feedback. This positive attitude applies also to teachers and staff who have worked hard to create a positive learning environment.

Bertha Kennedy has been such a great school for our family. Starting with Pre-Kindergarten, we have enjoyed the small community feel of Bertha Kennedy. Everyone has been so wonderful and welcoming, you really feel part of the family at Bertha Kennedy. We also were happy to have the convenience of SIGIS daycare being right in the school! They have worked so hard to keep all our children safe during the pandemic and before this we enjoyed so many fun filled activities like barbeques, dances, holiday parties and so much more. Looking forward to getting back to this one day. The teachers have all been amazing and their lines of communication are always open. We would definitely recommend Bertha Kennedy Catholic School.

My daughters love going to BK and I look forward to sending my son next year. The teachers are amazing and the Admin Staff so welcoming, supportive and approachable. Such a warm feeling when you enter the school. Highly recommend.
